Finally a doll that is not blonde haired and blue eyed! The world is a diverse place and my little girl has a medium to dark complection, dark hair and dark eyes! We need more like this....dolls, tv shows, videos, etc. I'm tired of all the mermaidia dvd's with long haired skinny little blondes. It makes kids feel special when their doll looks like them! Bravo!

My daughter got this for her 4th birthday, she loves to play with dolls, especially hair and has practically learn how to cornrow because of it. I like that it had accessories for her as well. Having a doll that is closer to her skin complexion is more realistic for her. Girls spend a lot of time with dolls and I don't want her to develop any complexes. I do wish there was some kind of storage unit in the base of the head to keep track of the accessories.

i like it and everything but it gets boring once in a while

All I can say is that I bought this 4 years ago and it is now just needing to be replaced and only because my daughter (10.5) thinks she is real stylist and cut a "style" in her head which is ok because it hers but now she wants another one. Hey, it's Christmas... I wish they still made this one. I ordered my daughter a different barbie head a few weeks ago for Christmas and it is so small. Kayla is very pretty; her hair is long lasting (don't fall out). I'll keep looking and the minute I find another Kayla, I'm going to order.

Bought this for one of my girls and it is still being used with the same zeal. I prefer these to the white dolls since my children are not white and they can appreciate this as a result. The learning that took place in styling the hair is transferred in playing dress-up so it is quite educational. It is also durable and will last for another three to four years easily. I definitely recommend it to the coloured people.

I was surprised by how nice this styling head is. The doll has a peaceful, intelligent, kind look that you just don't often see on dolls these days (they all have smug or angry expressions). She's far more beautiful than the picture shows. There are tons of accessories, and the hair is pleasant to work with.

Quite handily, the doll is ethnically ambiguous, so I could see her as being relatable for many little girls. She has that exotic foreign look you can't quite place. Could be from many different places. In our case, we presented her as being from India. But she could be African, Hispanic, or even part Asian.

My only complaint is I wish the doll came with instructions on how to make various hairdos.
