The Fashion Fever Shopping Boutique allows girls to get their shop on and experiment with wardrobe combinations without having to go through the trials of dressing and undressing Barbie in the process.

This playset's ingenious centerpiece is a pole in three rotating parts, and with four sides. So on the top tier of the pole, you can hang things like hats, sunglasses, and jewelry on each of the four spots. The middle tier is perfect for tanks, blouses, dresses, or jackets while the bottom tier can hold pants, skirts, and belts. Now here's the clever part. Once the pieces are hung, shoppers can rotate the individual tiers to see a multitude of style options. Love that scoop neck top, but just arenÕt sure what bottom it goes with? Hang it on the boutique pole with a skirt, a pair of shorts, and a pair of pants and see for yourself which works.
The Shopping Boutique Playset comes with three outfits, including shoes and sunglasses, and the rotating pole can hold up to 20 clothing and accessory pieces. Also included is a display stand that doubles as the cashier counter where you "buy" your clothes. Swipe the Fashion Fever credit card to "pay" and find out the remaining balance on your account. But don't fret. Once the balance hits zero, it will reset so you can continue to shop. Barbie dolls not included.

Barbie shopping - not a lesson in morals,

Let's get real - anyone particularly worried about a lesson in the influence Barbie has over their daughters shouldn't be letting their daughters play with her at all. Barbie is just Barbie - no moral lessons included. The toy is fun, and just what it's meant to be for the 5-10 year old age group for which it was intended. Kids get a kick out of the shopping experience for Barbie. Enjoy it - kids are only young once, just like we were!

I bought this for my 9 yearold as a b-day gift. She loved it and has fun playing with it. The price was great and it came with so many accessories.

The concept is cute but the design is very flawed. It is a round cylinder sectoned into 3 parts: the head, the top, and the bottom. It is deigned to be a real life fashion plate (for those old enough to remember fashion plates). You mix and match the different pieces of an outfit by pushing down on a button at the top of the cylinder and the different sections rotate allowing you to make different outfits and see them together before putting them on the Barbie. It holds 4 (or 5 maybe) different manquin heads, torsos, and legs.
My 6 year old became so frustrated with the toy she quit playing it the same day she got it. The mannequin pieces the hold the clothes continually fall off. At first I thought it may be a user error on my child's part. After 5 minutes of me using it I agreed that it was frustrating that when you turn the round cylinder that holds the seperate pieces - they fall off. I even contemplated supergluing the mannequin forms down so they couldn't fall off but then it would make it very difficult to put the clothes on them. This toy does not lend itself to independent play for a child. If you are buying this for a child under the age of 12 I do not recommend it.
