Fun for your little designers,

= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Barbie Fashion Show: an Eye for Style (Video Game)
The game is very simple and fun for the little ones.
It is not too complicated and easy to master, there is no winning or losing. The player becomes Barbie and has Teresa as an aid via telephone. There is no real designing involved as the clothes are already made. What you do is color them back and front with different brushes that include a very large color palette and prints that grows after each fashion challenge or mission. You'll hear Barbie's voice giving you words of encoragement or praise as you "design" the pieces. The possibilities are endless, because as the child paints the clothes is like creating an unique fabric. You get to choose models for the clothes and the accesories (shoes and hairstyle)they'll wear. The fun part is giving the models movements and poses that you'll see in ther fashion show. You also choose the music, lights and scenery for your fashion show. This game also includes male models and some menswear and boy/girl couples fashions, which I found most innovative, since most fashion games do not include males or menswear with the exeption of Pop Cutie Street Fashion Simulation. Your little girl will have blast with this. Once the main game ends and all colors, patterns, music and scenery are unlocked you can do it all over in free mode.The game also has other languages including Spanish and French. And unlike other games it is played by holding the Nintendo DS in a vertical position like notebook, recreating the feel of a fashion skectchbook. Mattell should produce a follow up where the player can actually make the clothes...

Nintendo DS Barbie Fashion show review,
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Barbie Fashion Show: an Eye for Style (Video Game)
This game is fantastic!!1 I gave this to my daughter this morning for her birthday and she has been playing it all day! I admit I played it for a half hour before I gave it to her (just to make sure it was age appropriate of course) and I was immediately hooked! I can't wait to play it when she's finished! In this game, you are working with Barbie to complete fashion objectives..... For example : In the first mission, Barbie is asked to design three cheerleading outfits for a high school fashion show. You are given some templates to choose from and then some colors and patterns to choose from. You design the outfits, then you choose models, then you decided how the models will wear their hair and what shoes they will wear. Then you choose the music and stage for your fashion show. Lastly, you use your stylus to click a camera icon and take photos at your fashion show for your portfolio. When it is all over, you are given another project to work on.
I admit....I had to learn what buttons to press to go back and forth between screens during the design process, so I could explain to my 7 year old how to do it. But I only had to show her one time and as I said....she's been playing this game ALL day. I think any girl 6+ would LOVE this game....especially since there is HARDLY ANY READING INVOLVED!! My daughter said that any time there are words on the screen, Barbie is saying them out loud at the same time. GREAT GAME!!!!

Great fun for my 5yr old.,

My 5yr old daughter loves playing this game, and has been glued to it since I bought it for her last week. I really like the fact that it talks to her, rather than rely on text for the interaction. She is able to read most in-game messages on other DS games, but it can take her a little while and takes some of the fun out of the games for her. It's nice to have a few games that she can just immerse herself in without it being a reading lesson. It is also nice to see that there really is no winning or losing in this game, whatever she wants to create for the fashions work just fine and allow her to progress to the next "mission". I played through the first fashion show with her, and showed her a couple things that weren't real intuitive for her, like switching screens back and forth to color the clothes, and selecting the multiple poses for each model. After she had seen it one time she was all set and has been playing without any additional help from me.
My only complaint that prevents me from giving a full 5 stars is that the game only allows one user account. If she wants to let a friend play on her DS, they either continue her game from where she stopped, or reset her account and start over. Having the ability to use two or three accounts in the game would have been a nice addition. 2115|R34T0AML89JSZ5;2115|R14VMFP0BHFR2V;2115|R3EQPII6SU5HOO;
