5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful doll
The Fashionistas line is a definite improvement to Barbie Dolls. I LOVE how poseable they are, with all the joints (head swivels, bust moves side to side, shoulders, elbows, thighs and knees jointed). They seem to be for the 6 and up crowd, since younger girls might be too rough and break off a hand or something. They are hollow, which is necessary for ball jointing, so...

3.0 out of 5 stars Hair sheds really bad!
I bought this doll for my cousin because of the movable joints and her hair. But her hair sheds really bad so brushing and combing it is out of the question!!!!

They are hollow, which is necessary for ball jointing, so they don't feel as weighty as earlier dolls.

I would disagree that they are 'cheap' feeling, since I generally collect very expensive asian ball jointed dolls, these are flippin' amazing for the price. The shoes alone are so well detailed and fit perfectly, staying on the feet through hours of play. My daughter has 'collected' this line since they were introduced and she hasn't broken any of the dolls (even with a little brother running around!) so, they are more durable than the look.

The clothes are of average quality, very detailed, but aren't as nice as clothes from when I was a kid. Of course, they are very inexpensive, so that's to be expected. We have purchased several beautifully made outfit/dresses from sellers on etsy.com that fit the dolls perfectly, so its fairly easy to buy American made clothes in all manner of styles.

I bought this doll for myself more than for my kid, because she is only 2 and the doll is not supposed for this age. still my daughter found it very entertaining. she likes to move the doll's legs and arms and names all the parts of barbie's body. This barbie doll is very pretty - pretty face, pretty dress, pretty shoes (dress can be taken off, but not shoes), pretty overall.

The only redeeming quality about this doll is that is actually moves. Here is a just a list of pros and cons I came up with for the doll as it pertains to me.

CONS:

1. hard hollow plastic body - can break if stepped on

2. joints appear to be loose and get worse as time goes on

3. permanent earrings

4. uneven hair

5. very short dress with no undergarments - underwear stamp on doll body

6. clutch purse that requires a rubber band to hold - easily lost

7. cheap dress fabric

8. some rigid fabric close are not designed to "move" with Barbie's new bending arms. If she wants to wear a long sleeve jacket, then it'll have to be made out of a stretch fabric.

PROS:

1. cute dress print

2. posable

3. pretty face

The Fashionistas are great moving dolls if you can get past the joint screws.

2.0 out of 5 stars Least favorite so far...., July 15, 2010

This review is from: Barbie Fashionistas Wild Doll (Toy)
I was very disappointed with this doll. As soon as I got her out of the box, one of the first things that crossed my mind was "boy, she looks trashy!" And she does. Her skimpy dress is just part of it. Her whole attitude almost screams "streetwalker!!" Shocked at how a Barbie doll could look so awful...most of them have innocent faces, with curly hair in pigtails or wide, innocent eyes that tame down the initial gasp at their short skirts. She does not. Wild doll reminded me more of Lady Gaga than Barbie.

And besides that, her accessories aren't as good as most poseables. Her purse is truly pathetic- it's a hard little piece of plastic, with some barely-there designs scratched into it and it's supposed to be a clutch. I predict that it will be lost in the homes of most families not within the hour, but within minutes. Aside from that her necklace is very pretty but mine keeps coming off.

I love the fashionistas line of dolls. Wild is my least favorite so far. But maybe it's just me. Personally, I don't like Barbie Gaga streetwalker dolls.
