I was so excited to see this Barbie reproduced! I have the original Barbie still and a couple of her friends from the Rockers--Derek and Diva. Silly me even went to an in store meet and greet in 1986 when this doll originally came out. I was 12 and still lovin' my Barbie dolls that's for sure! Someone was dressed and looked just like her, but I didn't care. :) Too bad this didn't come with the cassette tape that was in the original.

This doll, Barbie and the Rockers Repro 1986 is the best repro from the My Favorite Barbie Doll series! Since mostly original molds are used, the doll is the most authentic of all the My Favorite Barbie dolls reproduced to celebrate Barbie's 50th birthday. Face paint, hairstyle and outfit are great! The doll is bright, cheerful, with her lime green box and she really stands out. If you are a fan or owned this doll as a child I would not hesitate to buy this great Barbie doll!

I still have my original Barbie and the Rockers doll, and the make up and hair looks pretty accurate. If anything, I'd say the eye make-up is better on the original. But it's close. The new one seems to have brighter make-up. This doll represents the mid-80s with all it's big hair, wacky and colorful fashions, and rock star look. Looking at it just takes me right back to being a kid. If you love the 80s and Barbies, this is a must have. Total fun for a collector, especially if you were a kid then-and if you had the original, it's great to have a brand new doll that looks like the ones we played with. I love all the repro Barbies I have, but this one is my favorite. It's very colorful and just pure fun.

I bought 2 of these masterpieces... I am saving them for my 6 year old daughter... Very Retro doll & the doll brings back Awesome memories of the greatest decade of all time!(in my opinion)
It also reminds us of the great women rockers of the 80's.

Even though the 1986 Barbie & The Rockers doll was beyond my time, I remember it selling very well at Christmas time when I worked at Consumers Distributing back in the late '80s. Out of all 6 "My Favourite Barbies", it seemed that Mattel saved the best doll for last in the production. The neon colours of her clothes really pop-out at you and can probably be seen for miles! The clothing fits nicely, and it looks like a lot of care was put into recreating this Barbie from the mid-'80s. The outfit enclosed looks great too, with the shoulder-padded bolero jacket, pink mini-dress, and those rockin' thigh high boots! Included are trivia cards, a booklet showing the fashions of the era, and a stand to display the doll. Overall, it's a nicely packaged Barbie from the '80s and will not disappoint adult Barbie doll collectors from any era!

The box was in great condition and that's really all I was concerned about because I collect Barbie. This Barbie was so much fun for my sister and me when we were little girls.

I had the original doll when I was little and loved it. Although I did wear her out pretty good. When I have the means I will go ahead and by the reproduction because I loved this doll so much back then. Another great plus is that the newer version comes with an additional outfit. My doll from back then only had the outfit it came with. She was hip back then and is still pretty rockin' now. I can't wait to buy it and this time she's staying in the box so she can keep on looking beautiful. :)
