Although I didn't have this particular doll growing up, I did have the titian Stacy doll from the same collection. Oh, how I loved that doll and luckily still have her in my collection. I was thrilled to get this doll as I thought the TNT dolls with the real eyelashes were the prettiest Barbies produced, even to this day. My Stacy had the peek-a-boo orange swimsuit, very sexy! Barbie and I are the same age, 50, so this anniversary collection is cool to collect. I'm planning on buying more!

The red-haired Twist 'n' Turn Barbie dolls are some of the most desirable and rare among the hardcore vintage Barbie collectors. Now, with this exceptional reproduction, you can own one at a fraction of the price of the originals! Here's the gorgeous 1967 Twist 'n' Turn Barbie doll. This was the year when Mattel performed a complete design overhaul on Barbie, giving her a fresh, youthful new face, rooted eyelashes and a waist you could swivel and twist, allowing for lots of new possibilities in pose and play. The Twist 'n' Turn doll was issued in several hair colours (blonde, brunette, brownette) but rarest of all was the titian or red hair colour. Barbie looks smashing in her red plastic bikini and white mesh coverup, just like she did back in 1967. The doll comes complete with the fondly-remembered 1968-69 fashion, "Zokko!", a sleeveless silver and blue lame minidress with matching boots, and red dangly earrings. Whether she's dressed for a Mod party or the beach, this is one classic beauty! Issued to celebrate Barbie's 50th anniversary, this giftset will be a great present for the Barbie fanatic in your house!

Out of all 6 of the "My Favourite Barbie" series, the 1967 Twist 'N' Turn Barbie is one of three that are nicely appointed. From the detail of her face paint, the swimsuit, and the 1968 "Zokki!" fashion really make this a nice collector doll in the series. The "Zokki!" fashion doesn't look that great in pictures, but when you see the outfit in the box with the doll, it really pops! The only downside to this doll is that the arms and twist 'n' turn waist move freely, and don't have the tightness that the original Barbies of the '60s & '70s had. However, the legs joined at the hips are tight and the legs click nicely into different positions. As I mentioned earlier, the 1967 is one of three that are nicely put together. The other 2 that I would recommend are the 1959 Barbie, and the 1986 Barbie and the Rockers doll. The worst one of the 6 is the 1971 Malibu Barbie, her head looks compressed at the sides, the arms span out when at her side, which wasn't the way the original was, and her legs look very skinny, making her torso look top heavy. The 1962 Barbie looks more like she has a bad case of bun-head, and not the bubble cut from the early '60s. Finally, the 1977 Superstar Barbie looks different from what I remember. On the repro, her forehead looks too big and the pink dress she is wearing is very baggy, and not form fitting in the chest area. With all the positives and negatives, it's nice to see the Barbies from the different eras represented. One thing is for sure, the 1967 TNT will not disappoint adult collectors.

I was shocked by the last review. I can only guess that this person knows nothing about Mod TNT Barbies. This is a wonderful doll. Her face paint is beautiful and when placed beside my original dolls, this repro rocks. The outfit "Zokko" is a faithful reproduction. This doll will not dissapoint you. She is worth more than the asking price.

This is a beautifully detailed very mod Barbie. Although 1967 is alittle before my time. I love some of the vintage reproductions to add to my collection. Barbie's mod era of the late 1960's is one of my favorites. Twist and Turn Barbies have a beautiful face mold, real eyelashes and a fun poseable body! The hair has a very nice straight long smooth style with adorable bangs in the front. She looks like a fun swinging chick that just stepped out for a night on the town to the Whiskey Go Go! The repro fashion mini dress "Zokko", go go boots and big earrings are so cute and retro! She also looks like she might spend a lazy afternoon by the beach in her cute and very cool orange peek-a- boo swimsuit with surfer boyfriend Ken! What a wonderful time capsule of the late 60's culture. She brings to mind so many famous girls of the era. Now I wish Mattel would reproduce 1970 "Live Action Barbie & Christy" who looks like a rock star from Woodstock and the 1980 beautiful Golden Dreams Barbie. Both very hard to find at a reasonable price..

I love the look of this doll, a real flashback to the 60's. However, for the price it feels and looks very cheap. The paint application was poorly done with the dolls eyes looking almost crosseyed. The plastic also feels cheaper than the old dolls. The swimsuit outfit is cute, but not quite as nice as the photos on the package. I don't like the metallic dress, silver boots it came with, or the chunky orange dangling earrings. Doesn't look Mod or 60's at all, but more like something Madonna would wear from the 80's. That was the biggest disappointment. A cute doll but not worth $35-40 price point. |
