4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, when it works...
This was bought for my 5 year old who LOVES butterflies and barbie, and just fell in love with it. In less than an hour, the wand broke. We returned it for a new one, and again, the wand broke. She found it very frustrating with the fishing line getting tangled and the wings falling off. This was more aggrivation than it was worth.

1.0 out of 5 stars This held her attention span for all of 10 minutes
After 20 minutes of struggling with the wings and unknotting the strings, we finally got this baby set up. When it was my daughter's turn to wind it up herself, there went the wings again! Not to mention that a complete winding lasts all of about 10 seconds. Great concept, beautiful packaging, but extremely poor research. Matell should have actually let real children play...

My daughter who is 3, just loves to play with her Flying Butterfly Barbie. She likes to play with her outside. We attach her to the clothes line and she just flies back and forth. Emily wants me to hold Barbie and help her to fly. The only thing that she doesn't like is that her wings come off too easy. I guess that happens so the wings wouldn't break off completely. She has learned that she has to make her fly; that the dolls does not fly by herself.

This was given to a 5 year old little girl. she took a look and said aw then suddenly burst out in excited giggles squealling she flys she flys. The wings fluttering are to cute. Anything butterfly thrills my friend and I. she was so delighted she had to show and tell everyone she could. Ill alwys remember her eyes and that laughter course I keep hearing it everytime the doll flutters or flies. A smile is worth so much and didnt really cost alot . I can bring many smiles at this price . I plan to buy several for Christmas I cant get to many smiles. It can be played with by 2 as each can hold a end whiles it flies its a good inneraction toy. Christmas will be fun when my friend sees several more butterfly dolls from Santa. its a beautiful doll

These dolls are bautiful, the gorgeous face, perfect hair and make up, the dresses are lovely, and the wings are colorful; but the wings keep coming off, they come off when my daughters play with them , they come off when I wind the dolls up. After 15 minutes of trying to play with them, wings and all, my daughters gave up, and they were making Barbie fly without them, now, they could have done that with any doll. Besides, this is a wind up toy, and, in my oppinion, batteries would have been great.

I think it is a great doll, especially since my 3 year old loved butterflies. I purchased the Teresa doll, the colors were prettier....and she trully loves it. She even puts it to sleep in her draw (so her sister won't get at it)

I got this barbie for chirstmas for my three year old girl. She loves it. Everytime barbie goes flying across the room she just giggles and laughs. There isn't much of a danger to it, if the parents are attentive and watch the child while she's playing with it. I haven't had a problem with the wings falling off, but by the time my daughter windes her and gets her on the string, half of her flying time is gone.

We bought this Barbie for my three year old daughter. It is fun to use when it is working correctly. It is a little difficult for my short three year old to use, but her brother and I had a lot of fun with it. We could not get the wings to stay on, and every couple of minutes they fall off.

My daughter had been asking for this barbie for at least a month. Bought on Friday, the wand was broke by Saturday. I believe that I was just as frustrated with it as her, the wings would not stay on, especially when her little 4yr old hands was trying to wind her up. Now lets talk about the string that helps Barbie fly. I don't know how many parents want there kids to play with fishing line, I know that I didn't. She had it tangled up around her feet quiet a few times, could be very dangerous because it easily knots and binds. Needless to say, wings are lost, wand and string are in the trash, and for the money that I paid elsewhere, sadly it turned out to be a 4$ Barbie. Very disappointed. This barbie was meant for collectors, not children.
