A Fun Toy and Potential Cult Classic,
By
This review is from: Barbie Forever Barbie Doll with Tanner the Dog (Toy)
I have never purchased a Barbie product...until now. I simply couldn't resist "Barbie & Tanner". I love this! God bless America!
Does this toy teach young girls moral lessons about the responsibilities of pet ownership and the importance of cleaning up their mess? Or, is the feces-eating devil dog teaching impressionable young kids that its ok to consume their own excrement? Who knows, and who cares. I'm sure the kids will enjoy it. I bought two. I gave one to the Toys for Tots drive, and plan on keeping the other for myself.. I can't wait to show the gang at work!

this doll is hillarious. my six year old daughter loves barbie and HAD to have the "pooping dog". everyone poos....so do animals....isn't it teaching kids to be responsible and pick up your pets poo so others don't have to step in it? don't most states have pooper scooper laws? anyway, it's not like it's real poo, they are little brown magnetic pellets that look like tic tacs. parts are small so be careful with smaller children. barbie and dog are great!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Barbie Forever Barbie Doll with Tanner the Dog (Toy)
I saw this in stores last year, and loved it. I've waited for the price to lower, but it still stood it's place. So I gave in and bought it. I didnt regret it even for a bit. I read the reviews from here, and thought, wow. Pooping dog???!!!! SO CUTE.
So i got it on my To-Buy list, and bought it with the money mom gave me. I quickly got home, and opened the box. Loved it to bits! At first, I thought that the mouth was stuck. But then i pried it open with my fingers, and the "lifting-the-tail" worked! I was so happie! Tanner has a very very soft fur. Not the kind of quality it has on Barbie's hair, but the kind of cute, fuzzy ones. When I make Tanner eat the dog treats, the treats automatically makes a "tok!" sound, asuring me that the treat is saftely in her stomach. One thing though- When you move her head when she has treats in it, "poo" will come out. It was hilarious! The "carpet" provided is just plain carpet. But It did'nt really suprise me. Since Mattel is, alittle Cardboard obssesed. OKay back to Barbie-- Barbie wears a cream brown capris, purple long sleved doggie shirt in side, and a small jacket out side. She has white and blue sneakers, and her makeup is very light. Barely visible, very smooth looking. Oh ya, and she has a belt oh her capris! Very trendy! Her hair is very smooth, and light. The box comes with a pooper-scooper, Barbie and Tanner (duh) Food container, Food Bowl, Trash Bin, "carpet", Green Base ( For the trash bin and the Food Container), A yellow bear, a yellow "bone", Blue rope, and a purple ball, and tons and tons of Fun~~ I love to put the rope, or bones, or anything that is long and narrow between Tanner's mouth, and pretend that she just caught something Barbie threw for her, or even she's carrying the toy to the beach, so Barbie and play fetch with her! Anyways, I loved this dog, and it brought alot of fun-- for me, at least. I highly recommened it to everyone! Hope this Helps!! Barbie Fan

I bought this Barbie to be part of a collection I have had for MANY years. Luckily I purchased two of them so I could open and "play" with one of them. I took the opened Barbie and Tanner to my classroom...and you guessed it...the kids loved it!! Even the boys. Now the really interesting thing is that my students are not little kids...they are high school students. I teach art at a public high school and I do bring interesting things into class to spark creativity, so having a Barbie and her dog on my desk was not all that unusual. What I did find unusual was that boys in the class would ask me if they could take it from my desk "to check it out."
I would say that this was a good purchase even if all the enjoyment I get from it is a chuckle every now and then from watching a high school football player scoop the little metal poops while trying to keep Barbie on her toes!

Barbie and Tanner aka "Pooper Scooper Barbie",
By
This review is from: Barbie Forever Barbie Doll with Tanner the Dog (Toy)
This is the first doll my four year old daughter has specifically requested. She adores it (well, mostly the dog). My seven year old son has a great time helping her with the magnetic function. I do caution it has many small parts, we do a "poop count" throughout the day, as the pieces are as small as TIc-Tacs and easily lost. Something to keep in mind with smaller children, but we love the toy.

My 8 year old daughter LOVED this toy. She loves dogs and got this and barbie's friend "Teresa with her pet cat Mika" for christmas. We all had a good time laughing over the pooper scooper part and my kids think it's fantastic. The only thing would be if you have any small children this toy does come with a lot of very small pieces. But for age appropriate kids it's great.

My 5 yr old daughter LOVES this toy. We have a Yellow Lab and perhaps that adds to the enjoyment since Tanner looks like our dog. She has played and played with this toy and trust me that doesn't happen too often.
It is very cute that Barbie can scoop the poo (since it is magnetic, it sticks to her scooper). She then puts it into the trash and it goes directly into the food container. Mattel has replacement "food" available on their website. Overall, this toy deserves 5 stars for fun, no educational value really, but loads of fun (no pun intended!)

I have resigned myself to the fact that my 7 year old princess adores Barbie and other dolls of that genre. She placed this doll on her Christmas wishlist, and without really reading the reviews, I bought it for her. I received it today and am trying to decide if I actually want to give it to her, or keep it for myself. I LOVE this doll! All of my co-workers have enjoyed my delighted giggles over Barbie and her poop eating dog- and this page has had to have had at least 50 hits from my co workers and the hilarity of the reviews! Thanks for the fun, Barbie!
If it's this much fun still in the box, imagine how much fun it'll be when I can actually make the dog eat it's own poop!

If you think about it, this is a really gross toy. The dog eats, the dog poops, and then you use that as food again! haha That said, my daughter loves this. She wanted it for a very long time and saved her money to buy it, so that made it even sweeter I think. She is six and in first grade and has had a lot of fun with this barbie/dog combo.

A Little Disappointed,

While initially we really liked this set, but the dog's "pooping" function broke rather quickly. Other than that it is great. Really liked the accessories and both the Barbie and the dog. Just wish it hadn't broke so soon.
