Ok, If you own the Barbie w/ the dog that poops and feel compelled to buy the cat that pees DON'T! It's a total pain in the butt! First off your using water, the cat does'nt drink it very well so theres water everywhere, then you got sand in the little box everywhere! If you like cleaning up after Barbie and kitty go for it! Not for me, my daughter wasn't that thrilled with it either.

I have to echo the reviewer who mentioned that this is NOTHING like the pooping dog. The cat doesn't drink well from the bottle at all. I don't know if I got a defect, but ours consumes maybe 2% of the liquid that the cat "drinks". The "litter" is a fine sand and it makes a complete and utter mess.

I did give this 2 stars because the doll is pretty and of good quality. The cat doesn't do what it's supposed to, but it's cute and my daughter enjoys playing with it and its accessories.

$20.00 for a Barbie and small toy that has no function other than being a rubbery figurine? I'd understand $8-12 maybe. But $20 for what you get is a bit outrageous.

The Barbie Cat & Cat Box were fine. As a 65 year old Grandmother of 6, I really don't understand why that was so important that my granddaughter had to have it for Christmas. She is welcome to clean my cat box anytime she has the notion.

But I must say Amazon.com amazed me with service. Luckily I opened the box upon arrival, saw that the wrong product had been sent. Went into Internet, followed directions, and within 24 hours had a replacement. I've always said every business makes a mistake, it's how they correct the mistake that counts and Amazon.com earns A+++++++++ on that.

Thanks for making a cat and cat box a priorty for my grandchild.

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She loves it. However it is a little hard to get the kitty to go potty on the litter box. The sand for the litter box is a little messy also but very cute Barbie set. My daughter loves anything having to do with animals.

My 4 year old received this as a Christmas gift. This toy definitely needs parental supervision. The kitty litter stains carpet, so unless you've got a carpet cleaning system on hand, play with this toy in the kitchen. Do not recommend to purchase for a child unless you are going to be with them every second it's going to be used.

My daughter was excited to have this toy. However, the clean up was more than anticipated. So, moms, expect the mess with this toy! Also, my daughter did not play with this toy that much after the initial excitment wore off.

My husband bought this for me from our local Target store and I absolutely LOVE IT! What a cool concept! I didn't even know the cat peed until after we got it home. I think this is such a cool idea! If you have a kid who wants a pet get him/her one of these first. See how he/she does with it. I also have the Barbie doll with the dog. And stupid me I didn't know that he pooped either! I just bought it because it was cute! I give both of these sets 5 very big stars. They are simply AWESOME! I highly reccomend them both! They teach kids how to clean up after their pets. This toy may be messy with the sand and the cat peeing water but it gives the child a sense of responsibility. They learn to cleanup and care for a pet without harming them in any way. This is a great way to see if the child really can get along with a pet and be responsibile. The truth be told, even the adults in our family got a great kick out of Barbie and Mika the cat. The price was very reasonable and the child spends hours with it everyday playing Barbie's mommy and teaching Barb how to cleanup, care for and caress the cat. It was a joke when I first purchased it but it turned out to be really a valuable lesson gift.

My daughter loved this item and had fun with the litter box for a few playtimes, but the bright colored sand ended up all over in my carpet and she lost the tiny pieces pretty quickly. She still has the cat and the Barbie though.

Maybe I shouldn't write a review so quickly, but my 5 year old daughter has only had this toy for 3 hours and I hate it already. She seems to like it, but I agree with the reviewer that says it requires constant adult supervision. The sand is VERY fine and gets everywhere! I've vacuumed twice tonight and finally took away the bottle and sand and told her she had to play with just the dolls. Maybe an older child would get more out of it. I disagree that it would teach a child responsibility for cleaning up after a real cat. You can't control when a real cat pees, and real cat pee has a smell. Perhaps if the sand was stinky, then it would be the MOST obnoxious toy on the market right now.

The doll is nice though. I like that she's not as "busty" as Barbie, and so is easier to dress.
