This is a really [silly] song, but its soooo awesome! I love it! The lyrics are pretty original; great for kids! Here are the lyrics to the song Barbie Girl.........

GET THIS CD! ITS AWESOME!!

Unlike the other reviews, which are all about how much the reviewer is obsessed with the song, this review is about the CD and the songs on it.
To start off, I find this song catchy and fun, but even a fan of aqua can (and probably will) get sick of this song after a while of repeated listenings, but that is no reason to enjoy it while you can.
Now, for the review of the actual CD-single of Barbie Girl:
This CD has four songs, with a total time of approx. 22 minutes, with the first track being the regular album version of the title song, and the other three songs are remixes of the same song.
The second track, the "extended edit" is pretty much just that, an extended version of barbie girl.
The Third song, Perky park club mix, is OK, but not as enjoyable as the original, mostly because you can't sing with it since it is just a mix of parts of the song and not nearly as perky as the title suggests.
The fourth and last track (Spikes anatomically correct mix)is mostly just a beat with some of the barbie girl tune in it and parts of the dialog from the original song. The last track is over 7 minutes long, but in my opinion, the worst song on the disc. It starts out with a stretched-out "Laaaaaaughing Plaaaaastic" that could truly give someone nightmares, and the rest of the song is not sing-a-long-able at all.
So all-in-all, while the original song is fine and dandy, and sure to be stuck in your head until the day you die, the remixes on this CD are not that memorable and most certainly not as fun as the album version. If you still want to purchase this CD-single, or if you are a completest, go ahead and get it; you might enjoy it immensely, but I was slightly disappointed.

A lot of people hate this song, but you have to give Aqua credit for their hyperness and great attitudes!!!The first time I heard the song I was at my friends house! Back in 1997, I was completely into europop music. One of my favorite songs was that ridiculously silly "Barbie Girl" song by Aqua. I loved the song so much that I bought the single of the song (prior to their studio album). I really wasn't big on the remixes. I did like the extended version but Spike's Anatomically Correct Dub and Plastic Mix were repetitive and quickly got on my nerves. I have never liked dub mixes. They are pointless IMO. What I didn't like about Spike's Plastic Mix of the song was the repetitive introduction to the song but eventually once the vocals kicked in, I started getting into the song. Still I think the remix could have been done better maybe by someone like Tony Moran who manages to turn Celine Dion's cheesy "My Heart Will Go On" into a great dance song. Seven years later, I can't believe I liked this tripe but you got to admit that it was addictively catchy and hard not to sing along to.

When i first heard the album version i thought it was cute and funny. Then i happened to find the mixes to it and i really enjoyed both sets of singles that i found. I did'nt even see the video until i bought the first single which had it on it. Even the video is cool Lene covers just about all the different types of barbie dolls that were out when the video was made! If you have'nt heard it yet by all means find the singles and buy them you won't be disappointed!

I find this cd very highly spirited; filled with energy and pumps you right up. The lyrics are hilarious! Aqua is pretty unique! I think track two is one of the best; and I absoloutly love the beat, forget about the lyrics...geez.

It's a great song that both children and adults can listen and enjoy but it is kind of stupid. If you think about it, you'll realize why I say it can be listed to by adults as well.

this CD is allover great, and Barbie girl is the best

This CD has made my wife very happy. I'm not so fond of it, but she loves it. That's reason for the five stars. Happy wife, happy life.
