This is a very pretty and intricate doll. We purchased it 3 years ago when my daughter was only a few months old. We wanted to start a collection for her(that she'll not know about until she's old enough to not want them out of the packages. I don't know when that will be, as I'd like to take them out!) We wanted to get in on the ground floor of a series. THis was 1st in a series. A series that they do not plan on continuing aparently. I E-mailed them(MATTEL) a year ago and they replied that no 2nd was even in the works at that time. I was very dissapointed as being the first in a series was our reason for purchasing. Two series started that year, Birthday and Nursery Rhyme. WE got both. At least the birthday series continued.(These two were the only ones we found with the boxes saying first in a series) Just wanted to let collectors in on this info.

Mary's outfit is adorable and very original; the colors are bright and eyecatching. The sweet little blue and white shoes are an additional treat. Another highlight of this doll is her hair, which is arranged in lovely, auburn sausage curls. The hairnet is slightly visible, unfortunately, but I'm assuming it's necessary to hold the style in place.

My grandmother always used to call my mom "Lambie", so anything having to do with lambs I grab for my mom's collection. We've accumulated quite a number of lamb dolls and "Mary Had a Little Lamb" type dolls. This one by far is my favorite! Her hair is beautiful.

This barbie is unique.She has a lot of detail and is a great display doll.Her dress has lots of color to it and really stands out.She is my favorite collector doll.This doll is for adults more than a child.An overall great diplay doll.

I don't really think this doll was meant to be played with. I do believe it is more of a collectors item. I mean that is why I purchased it. I think she is very beautiful. She has never been out of her box so I don't know about her durability. But I have purchased three more of them for gifts, and everyone seems to love her.

This doll is gorgeous. I bought it for my daughter Mary, of course we keep it in the box on display. She's much prettier than the picture here.

but who would want to play with a doll that looked like that. you wouldn't want to destroy her beautiful curls or her dress. and that lamb. small and plastic. come on. if you're gonna call her mary then make her look like mary. by the way...didn't mary have gollden curls?
