Surf's up! And for Barbie, that means a stop by this Hang Ten surf shop, where the quintessential California girl can stock up on boards, shades, and beachwear--all crucial in her quest for the perfect wave and a day of fun in the sun. From the plastic clothes and shoe rack hang T-shirts, shorts, a tank top, and a skirt (some cardboard, some cloth and wearable by Barbie), while an orange-colored press sits ready to "iron" cool logos onto the shirts. (The logos are actually stickers.) Blue, pink, and orange sunglasses, all removable and wearable, rest on a swiveling display. Meanwhile, a surfboard and a couple of wakeboards lean along an outdoor stand flanked by palm trees. This toy would be fun for my 5 year old if we could keep it from tipping over! My daughter has a doll house that we purchased when she was just 2 and it is very sturdy. We re-arranged the furniture so that she could put the Surf Shop and a beauty salon playset on the top floor. The surf shop items are constantly tipping over and the little assessories fall out of the dollhouse and onto the bedroom floor where our dog promptly picks them up and chews on them.
