This barbie styling head looks great, but is difficult to achieve the same results as the picture unless you are a professional stylist. The water does not turn the hair a consistent color and the hair extensions get very ratty, very easily. I bought this for my 4 year old daughter and my 6 year old niece. Even with supervision, it was too hard for both . My 12 year old babysitter, had alot of luck , and did some great styles, but said she is too old for it. Buy Make -up Mindy or the barbie Talking styling head if you daughter is under 8.

Unfortunately, my 4 year old daughter is a huge Barbie fan. I have no objections, other than the fact that most of the products are junk: too many little pieces made of junk plastic that either constantly fall apart or break. No difference with this product. To start, the head does not come on a base so it was tipping over the second my daughter put a brush on her hair. Secondly, the barrets and clips that came with it broke immediately and I had to give her some of her own to use. Thirdly and probably most significantly,like any other Barbie doll, the hair was combable only for the first ten minutes. It then became so knotted that it was unusable until my husband coated it with something. Unless you want to do some fixing up on it before she plays with it - I'd stay away from this purchase.

I purchased this product for my 3 year old who hates to get her hair done. I thought maybe she could do the Barbies hair while I do hers. Thought it was a good idea until I took it out the box.
Doll falls over when you comb. Clips are hard for little hands to use. The toy works when my daughter shows me where she wants the barets placed. Too frustrating for a 3 year old. Might be O.K. for an older child.

VERY CUTE DOLL HEAD..SHE COMES WITH A COMB TO COMB BARBIES HAIR, HAIR PEICES AND BARRETTES....LITTLE GIRLS WILL LOVE THIS ONE...ITS A PRETEND BARBIE SALON...VERY NICE AND DURABLE I'D SUGGEST FOR 4 AND UP THOUGH UNLESS YOU HAVE A SUPER NEAT 3 YR OLD

I agree with the other reviewers. My 4 year-old daughter is big on Barbie, but the doll's hair is difficult to comb, the clips fall apart, and the doll falls over when you try to comb her hair.

This barbie toy is excellent. My daughters will play with it for hours. It keeps the girls out of my hair literally

My daughter played with this for about 5 minutes and then got bored. There is not much to do with it. The hair clips are very hard to use for little fingers and the "hair paint" did not work well. Skip this one.

I was so excited at first when I ordered this doll head for my daughters 4th birthday. I had one as a little girl and loved playing with it. But when it arrived I notived that it was less than half the size as the one I had years ago. Alos, the the hair decorations are hard to work with. My daughter gets very frustrated when trying to put them in her dolls hair and getting them to stay. They are kind of cheesy. However, she loves the Hair mascara that comes with it.
