Following in the elegance of the Hollywood Movie Star Series featuring Barbie, Publicity Tour Barbie is truly a diva! I guarantee that this is going to be one of the most sought-after collections Mattel has developed! Barbie is ready for continuous press conferences to promote her latest film. She is elegantly donned in a houndstooth suit, black heels, matching bag, wide-brimmed hat, and a floor-length pink sateen shawl draped about her, accented with a faux fur brim. Her face and hair are classic and reminiscent of the Hollywood movie stars of lore.
The box she comes in also an incentive to purchase the doll, as it is also great to keep and will look great in your curio, if you like to display your dolls as I do. You can use the box as a diorama to display Publicity Tour Barbie, as it is a picture with a horde of Barbies and Kens dressed as reporters, paparazzi, and photographers hounding Barbie for any comment or a flash of her dazzling smile. The back of the box comes with a nice collage of the first four Barbies in the Hollywood Movie Star Series, great to keep track of which Hollywood Movie Star Barbies you have bought and have yet to buy.
Publicity Tour Barbie, just as any other Barbie in this stunning series, is great for Barbie collectors of all ages, and those who may not collect Barbie but do love nostalgic Hollywood and its memorabilia. I bought a Publicity Tour Barbie for myself, and have decided to buy another for my mom, for two reasons: one, the fashion and elegance reminds me of my mom, especially when she was dating my dad, and two, my mom is an avid Rita Hayworth fan. Definitely worth every penny!
