A comfortably dressed Barbie baby-sits her romper-clad little sister Krissy in this set, which includes a crib and various things a baby needs for bedtime care--bottle, lotion, powder, quilt, and pacifier. A smart idea: Barbie's arms are curved in just the right position to cradle Krissy, and when a lever in her back is pressed, she makes rocking motions.

Though the dolls are impressive, the crib earns special mention. It's tall, made of pearly plastic, and features a sweet, dangling mobile. A pink canopy is decked with stars that really glow in the dark. And as a final touch, Krissy can be rocked to sleep in the crib as it plays a lullaby, thanks to two button cell batteries (not included). --Diane Beall

My 4 year old daughter got this as a birthday gift from her Uncle and has a ball playing with the baby and the crib and all of the wonderful accessories. It's a great addition to her Barbie collection.

My four-year-old owns this toy, but doesn't play with it very much. In order for Barbie to hold and rock Krissy, one must fit her with an odd little accessory. This was too complicated for my girl, and the part looked unimportant and was soon lost. Justice really enjoys Krissy and her pretty crib, but the Krissy doll is so tiny that she needs help to change its clothes. I've been especially disappointed with the curtains on the bed, which I have had to resew after they came loose.

My daughter got this Barbie last Christmas, when she was 4 years old. It's a very sweet set--nice that Barbie actually looks like a teenage girl without tons of makeup--but the set up is too complicated for very young girls. I would recommend it for ages 6 and up.
