It needs better steering!,

Cute pink Vette big enough for Barbie, but looks are about it. It goes forward or backward with a built in turn. Kids have a difficult time figuring out how to get the car to go where they want it to go. You have to do a series of reverse turns to end up facing the direction you want to go.
This one sits it the closet.

I have a two girls, 6 and 8 years old. I purchased two of these for Christmas because they asked for monster trucks but I thought this would be a better and more girly alternative.
Next year, I will purchase the monster trucks. You cannot use both cars at the same time because one remote will work both cars. They move at a snails pace and do not turn. Well ... If you make them go backwards, they turn, but only straight when going forward. I see it as a problem because I wanted them both to be able to play with their cars together but now each has to take turns which isnt much fun at all, in my opinion. They just wait patiently for their turn to drive their own cars or either pretend as if theyre racing snails down the sidewalk. Not worth the money in my opinion but the kids still like them because its pink and its a remote control car. Like I said, next year, I get monster trucks.

I was disappointed in two Mattel Barbie products this year ... this being one of them. You can't really steer the car. my daughter didn't seem to mind but i didn't care for the missing feature. she has to either pick it up or kick it to turn in. it angle's a little when in reverse mode only. talk about needing patience for that slow turn! not what my 5 year old has for sure!
over all it's a great cool toy...just missing a key feature. and for the hefty price it should be included!

My daughters enjoy this car even though the turning radius is a little strange, with just the forward and backward to the left only. Granted it is their first remote control car and they are a bit older at 8 & 6, so they figured out how to drive it pretty easily. Admittedly I did get the car free from R US on a Christmas promo, so If I had to pay a lot for the car I would probably be disappointed in how it turns. But the bottom line is that my kids do enjoy it quite a bit.

We bought this car for my daughter for Christmas. Since we couldn't take it out of the package first we only found out the night before that the car doesn't turn the front wheels. The car instead has a wheel in the middle of the front of the car on the bottom that turns when you back up. The problem is that when you put the car in reverse it only backs up to the right. So if you want to turn left you have to back up over and over and over until you have backed up 270 degrees. It's like going around the block to get to your neighbor's house. This would be all fine and good if the car was fast or cost about $38. But for anything over $100 the front wheels should turn. Heck there are cars out there that cost $50 and have turning front wheels.
In addition it makes it difficult for the car to turn when in reverse if on carpet (which most people have these days). The turn radius is about 8 feet, so nobody will be able to even get this to turn unless you make the care go forwards and then reverse about 18 times. This is probably really good for the electric motor too. If this was not a gift from Santa I would be taking it back to the store. I don't understand how stuff like this makes it out of testing at companies these days. It's all about the dollar bill and not about stuff that really works. Yeah I know....that's nothing new. Please, don't waste your money. This car is a piece of poop. Seriously.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas, and I hoped that the manufacterer would have fixed the steering issues that others have posted about. They haven't. My six year old was delighted to open it, because on the surface it is a really cool toy; but after playing with it for a couple of hours she got frustrated with the poor turning and went back to her old push car. I'm really disappointed that the manufacterer couldn't give us better steering on a car that was this expensive...my son has remote control cars that were less expensive and function better. So, don't waste your money on this car until it can actually be steered.

I bought this toy for my 7-year old daughter and she loves it! Being a girly girl, she wasn't great with fast moving remote control cars that bang against walls and chairs. This toy move in a slower speed which gives her time to think which direction to push. There's only two buttons- forward and backwards. My 3-year-old son loves it as well because he gets to learn his colors. Green button for forward and red button for backwards. My children didn't have any problems manuevering the car. And what do you expect from Barbie? It's all about the looks and this corvette definately has it. The hot pink color in a sleek (2009)corvette design is made for a girly girl and not a tom boy!
There are a few things I would prefer. The front bottom headlights light up, which is neat but I wish the main head lights would open up but it doesn't. Doors could open out but it doesn't. The only way to put the dolls in the car is slip them in and out. But once they are in their seats, it was fun seeing them ride around. That's the best part, you can actually see the dolls in the car and not worry they'll get thrown out because they are going in a high speed! I say it's a great car to have for any girl who loves playing barbie. The bonus part is..it's remote control! You don't always have to push it around. I wouldn't suggest this toy for a collector. Definately needs to be played with to get the full fulfilment.

Our 3 year old got this car for Christmas. She can fit three barbie's into it at a time and drives it all over the house. It does well on carpet and on hard floors. It has already survived two trips down the stairs so I give it 5 stars for durability! She loves that the lights turn on. I do wish it would turn right or left but she doesn't seem to mind one bit. The only downside is that it does pick up frequency from other remote toys (and the neighbor boy MUST have one because the car will just start driving on it's own sometimes!)

The word I received from my daughter-in-law is that my granddaughter loved her Xmas present and had fun playing Barbies with her father.
