A charming little mystery,

Barbie's sister Stacie comes home with a puppy. She really wants to keep it -- but Barbie things the dog might belong to someone. Stacie turns sleuth and finds clues to figure out who the dog belongs to. The owner praises Stacie and suggests she should become a detective when she grows up. But Stacie already knows what she wants to do -- work at an animal shelter so she can find homes for animals. She's off to a great start.
This quick-paced story with simple dialogue and large words will be a hit with kids. It may be the first mystery for many of them. Children as young as 2 or 3 will enjoy having the book read to them, while older children will appreciate being able to read it independently. The one flaw in this book is there is no diversity (unless you count the red-head!) All the characters are blue-eyed (unless you count the dog!) Oh, well. It is Barbie...
