Barbie In A Mermaid Tale Seahorse Stylist Doll - Pink

My daughter loves this doll. It's fun to play with in the tub and the seahorse is adorable. It is smaller than a barbie doll but that is okay with us. It's very cute.

This is one of 3 'Destinies' from the movie "A Mermaid Tale". Of the three, she was the head Destiny and was more prominent in the movie. If you are trying to decide on which Destiny to buy, I would recommend this Pink one over the purple and blue ones. The pink Destiny most resembles the movie character and had the most lines in the movie. The blue and purple ones did not do much at all in the movie - or as a doll.

These are smaller than a Barbie doll (even though the Destinies were full Barbie size in the movie) and made of hard plastic. They don't move at all and aren't posable. The sea horses come with a little stand on their back and the Destiny doll clips into it loosely. Which can be problematic - they aren't very useful out of the water since they don't stand at all and certainly they don't float right in the water. Their play value is only in the color changing hair and this doll's hair changest the least interestingly of the three.

This version of the Destinies does most resemble the movie character. However, since she isn't posable, doesn't sit right, falls out of the 'saddle' easily, and doesn't allow for you to change her clothes, I don't rate this highly. If your daughter really wants the Destinies, I would get this pink one only and be done with it.

This barbie was smaller than we expected. It is about 2/3 of the size of a regular barbie. My daughter was disappointed in the changing of the color of the hair with water. It goes from light pink to slightly darker pink. I think she was expecting something much more dramatic. She has used it once in the tub and now it sits in the toy chest.
