4.0 out of 5 stars Positive spin on Cheerleading
My daughter really wanted a cheerleader Barbie for Christmas. I was thrilled to see a set on Amazon that included 2 Barbies! I couldn't find it in stores anywhere! The platform is pretty sturdy on a smooth surface. The instructions were simple to follow and my daughter really loves playing with it. I like that it shows that cheerleaders are athletic too. It's a stretch,...

3.0 out of 5 stars not terrible, but could use work.
I only spent $8 for this toy, so I am happy with it. But I wouldn't spend much more than that. the barbies are nice and the outfits are cute. but the contraption to make the one girl flip onto the other girl's shoulders isn't that easy/foolproof. It works if you do it *just* right, but it is hard for me as an adult to do it just right, nevermind my 6 year old...

It works if you do it *just* right, but it is hard for me as an adult to do it just right, nevermind my 6 year old daughter. still, it is kind of fun when it DOES work. and my 6 yo likes the toy and has even gotten the flip to work a few times. I guess I would give the toy 3 1/2 stars if that was an option.

The platform is pretty sturdy on a smooth surface. The instructions were simple to follow and my daughter really loves playing with it. I like that it shows that cheerleaders are athletic too. It's a stretch, but it demonstrates that it takes more than a cute face and outfit to be able to flip. Now she wants to take cheernastics so she can flip like Barbie.

My daughter received this as a birthday gift.
You can make the dolls stand on top of each other but after a couple of times doing that - she was bored with it.
She does enjoy play with the dolls alone.

So, this is the second Theresa we have purchased. I got her because my girls (who are caucasian) just loved Theresa when we got her. In fact, they ditched the blonde Barbie and fought over Theresa. I bought this to keep the peace and give both girls a Theresa. Strangely, though, this Theresa is very light. She looks like a caucasian brunette. It isn't the end of the world, but it got me wondering if Mattel made her "white" so that the bigots out there would buy it instead of rejecting the set?? I sure hope not. I also ordered the Barbies on the Vespas and the Theresa there is actually African American so I am hoping that works to diffuse the battle....

5.0 out of 5 stars Carpel Tunnel..., July 29, 2008
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

If you get the gymnastics barbie (that comes with a handle that you squeeze to make her do turns), it's a great way to get carpel tunnel so that you can get on disability. I actually purchased the set in the picture, and although I haven't opened it, it does appear as if you could possibly get carpel tunnel from that as well. It's not a good idea to let your children play with toys that engage them in repetitive motion because this causes carpel tunnel, and once someone has this, it is very difficult to correct. I would recommend purchasing a standard Barbie doll instead because there is too much of a risk of getting carpel tunnel. I actually played with the gymnastics barbie a little and I could feel my wrist starting to hurt...some of my colleagues tried it as well and that felt as if they were getting carpel tunnel from it.

Help the Fly Girls land their stunts and get their audiences excited! Cheerleader dolls Barbie and Teresa just love to perform. These two Pom Pom Divas are all about action, glamour, fun, and friendship. Each doll comes dressed in a glittery fashion cheerleader outfit that includes foil pom poms for her to hold as they perform! Girls can make the dolls kick, shake their pom poms, and even do cartwheels as part of the performance. Plus there's a miniature pom pom for the girl, too!
