... I was fairly sure [my daughter] would be disappointed but I have to say she loves it. The dolls is darling- and actually does move well. ... It plays 2 differents lines, not songs. And really only one line is understandable and attractive to my daugher. It just keeps repeating and repeating and repeating until I can get her to turn it off. It is marketed to say that you can hook up your own music to it and sing along. This is true, with a VERY short adapter- but then the music is piped through from the radio to the stand and the resulting sound is very 'wrinkly' as my 6 year old says. It really doesn't sound very good although there is no way to have Barbie dance without the Barbie music playing unless you have it hooked up to your own radio/cd player. This is to say, she only dances when there is music (hers or yours) playing. She can't just dance to your singing. My daughter does like to hook up the kid headset to the Barbie stand and hear herself sing (without the Barbie dancing) while her own music plays on the radio in the background. Overall, it seems to be a good one. Hasn't broken- my only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to improve the 'speaker' so the kids can hook up their own music without it sounding so distorted (or be able to have Barbie dance without any music coming through the base). There also needs to be more variety (or longer) music selections in the stand so that the rest of the family doesn't go nuts from hearing the same line being sung over and over again!

My 4-year old loves this Barbie! She can sign along with her with her own microphone! She can even play her own songs through the speaker. Nice toy.

My 4 year old loves this Barbie and walks around the house with the mic. on her head and the music on and singing. We adults wished it played another different song or two, but it's been a hit anyway.

My 4 year old loves dancing and singing along with Barbie. Barbie sings two short song clips that are a little difficult to understand, but after hearing your child sing along for the hundedth time it becomes really clear. Compared to other "Barbie" toys this is one of our favorites. Better than most.

"Santa" brought this toy to my 5 year old, and she absolutely loves it! She loves singing and dancing with Barbie. However, it is annoying to the rest of the family since the doll just sings the same lines over & over & over again. After a few minutes I have to tell my daughter to turn it off because it is driving me nuts! We tried playing some other music through the toy, but the sound wasn't that great. Probably the best feature of the toy is the microphone headset. My daughter loves to talk and sing through the headset, WITHOUT the doll singing or dancing. She just loves hearing her own voice through the speaker.

My daughter asked for this in her Christmas list for Santa. I've go to say that my daughter loves this Barbie. It brings two outfits, the base that plays the music and a big microphone for the child to use. My daughter likes to sing along and dance. It is however annoying to hear the melody over and over again, it is the second day and it's getting on my nerves so I try to somehow catch my daughter's attention with something else, to be able to turn it off ;) The other melody is terrible so my daughter doesn't even try it. I can plug my portable CD player to it but the sound is not as good as if you have a boom box, the only advantage is that Barbie can dance along to any music you play.

This Barbie really dances on her stage, a must for many Barbie fans like my daughter (not me) it is very noticeable how expensive can a toy be just because it has the "Barbie" name on it, that's the reason I am not so fond of the Barbies, otherwise it's ok.

This barbie doll is cool for younger children, but older kids and teenagers might find it boring after a while. Toys that I would personally reccomend as a 12-year-old would be the Bratz. They are cool, and they don't have the ever-smiling look on their faces like Barbie. That's just something that has always bugged me about Barbie. That's why I like da Bratz.
