We went through some trial and error trying to get the two dolls to sing a duet in unison. Every time we followed the instructions it seemed that the Annaliese doll was off-beat by a second or two. Here's what we did to rectify this (don't follow the manufacturer's instructions!) (1) press the sound button until both dolls are on the same song ("You're just like me") then start the Annaliese doll first and the Erika doll a second or two later. This should get them singing in sync. Otherwise the Annaliese doll will be a little behind as the song progresses.

If you purchase each doll separately, you may still be able to get them to sing together if you follow the same steps.

By the way, if your doll comes with the "Try Me" cord still attached (it's a long pink cord with a little black button at the end), no need to be careful with your cutting -- you can cut right through it to get the doll out. This cord is not necessary and is not meant to stay on the doll after it is removed from the box. It is strictly for in-store demonstrations.

We are new to Barbie in this household. 2 girls, 3 and 4. P&P is the thing right now. I went nuts over these in the store thinking they were so cute and loved that they were supposed to sing together. Overall, I love this toy. True to Barbie and the movie. The singing is cute. If you expect them to sing together, good luck. 2 seperate children will have a really hard time. Even I had to try over and over again to push the buttons at the EXACT SAME moment. And I think this barbie pretend play thing is cute, but why, considering the age grop I most see play with these, do barbies have to always come with little miniscule pieces?
Really, it's cute and I would recommend if your kids love this movie as much as mine do.

I must say I am really impressed with both the Anneleise and the ERika dolls - my three year old girl is not exactly gentle with either of them, but they are really hardwearing both in terms of the doll itself and the costume. I find this important because if you look at the picture it is full of bits and pieces - crowns, shoes, necklaces, lacy costume and long hairstyle. My daughter loves playing with the toy and watching the movie, Anneleise also plays along with other dolls. Occassionally she had hauled the dress off to put on other clothes and all the lacy bits survived despite her less than tender care. I have had no problem with the singing - the two dolls sing perfectly in unison. My daughter has had her doll for 6 months and adores it - the movie is pretty good too - highly recommnended overall.

I love these dolls just as much as I do the movie-as with any other Barbie Mattel has put out from the Barbie movies-they are beautiful and the detail is great, but the singing is an absolutely wonderful addition to the Barbies. I bought both dolls for each one of my girls(gotta buy in doubles)both Erika and Princess Annaliese. I have not given them to my girls yet-(Christmas gift this year)but I could not help myself to test them out. Being born in the late 60's there really were not too many choices at the time for different Barbies-so of course I was intrigued to have some playtime with them. Completely adorable and I am sure I will be hearing for quite a long time to come "I"M JUST LIKE YOU.....YOU"RE JUST LIKE ME" echoing throughout the house. I would recommend them highly to all Barbie lovers.

I USUALLY HATE BARBIES THE SING BUT THIS ONE IS GREAT.
SHE HAS ONLY A LITTLE BUTTON ON HER BACK AND IT DOESNT STICK OUT WHICH IS GREAT BECAUSE YOU CAN PUT OTHER OUTFITS ON.
BUY HER IS YOU LIKE HER, I DID AND DO NOT REGRET IT!!!!!

P.S HER OUTFIT IS SOO PRETTY.

I bought this doll for my younger sister for Christmas and I'm glad I did. The Annelise doll has an absolutely gorgeous dress that my sister loves. The two songs she sings are catchy but relatively unannoying. My sister likes how the Annelise and Erika doll can sing one of the songs together, although it takes a little work to press the singing buttons at the same time. Overall, I'd recommend this doll as a wonderful gift for a young girl.

My daughter is four and loves all the barbie movies, so we had to get this one the day it came out. Then she received her princess annelise shortly after they came out, and loved it. Then had to have all the rest, which she got for her birthday. She will play princess and the pauper for hours, so they are all a big hit in out house!! Worth the money if your child likes to play with dolls, and like barbie!

This is a review from the standpoint of my 2 daughters, ages 3 and 5. Who really cares about the smart alic comments these adults have about Barbie, what matters is what the kid thinks right? So my older daughter got this Barbie almost a year ago and both the girls still love to play with it. We have alot of Barbies and this one is probably their favorite.

I bought this doll as a gift and was very happy when she arrived.

She is even prettier than in the picture and very well made.

I wish I were 5 years old again! When I was that young, we didn't have such pretty dolls where I come from. I got this as a gift for a little girl I know, and wish I had a daughter myself. The Princess doll is a great addition to any little girl's doll collection.
