4.0 out of 5 stars If you buy the set with Two dolls...
We went through some trial and error trying to get the two dolls to sing a duet in unison. Every time we followed the instructions it seemed that the Annaliese doll was off-beat by a second or two. Here's what we did to rectify this (don't follow the manufacturer's instructions!) (1) press the sound button until both dolls are on the same song ("You're just like me") then...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute Doll - Hard to Dress
My daughter plays with this item a lot. The duet Erika sings with Annaliese is just darling, but she's cute without Annaliese too. One draw back - The clothes are difficult to remove & put on for tiny hands.

We went through some trial and error trying to get the two dolls to sing a duet in unison. Every time we followed the instructions it seemed that the Annaliese doll was off-beat by a second or two. Here's what we did to rectify this (don't follow the manufacturer's instructions!) (1) press the sound button until both dolls are on the same song ("You're just like me") then start the Annaliese doll first and the Erika doll a second or two later. This should get them singing in sync. Otherwise the Annaliese doll will be a little behind as the song progresses.

If you purchase each doll separately, you may still be able to get them to sing together if you follow the same steps.

By the way, if your doll comes with the "Try Me" cord still attached (it's a long pink cord with a little black button at the end), no need to be careful with your cutting -- you can cut right through it to get the doll out. This cord is not necessary and is not meant to stay on the doll after it is removed from the box. It is strictly for in-store demostrations.

Hope this helps!

I have Erika and Annaliese, and for christmas i am getting the rest of the princess and the pauper range!!! I like both of the songs Erika sings but Annalieses 2nd song is soo annoying. i tried to get them to sing together but they sung at different times EVEN when i pressed the button at the Exact same time.i dont know if anyone else has this problem but i have fixed it. Dont press the buttons at the same time, press erika first and then press Annaliese, it does work!!! The movie is absoultly fantastic and i think every girl (who likes barbie of course) should have this doll!!!!!! They are pretty and fun!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Musical Doll, October 18, 2004

My daughter received this for her third birthday and she loves it. Erika is just beautiful and her dress is gorgeous. My daughter, who loves all Barbie dolls, says that she is the prettiest one of all. There is a small button on her back that makes Erika "sing" when it is pushed. My one concern is that the button may break at some future date, but so far it works fine. The songs are pretty and not annoying like the songs on some toys. Erika also comes with a comb and brush set and my daughter has fun styling her hair. Now she really wants the DVD - I guess I know what she'll be getting for Christmas!

Santa brought my three yr old this doll and King Dominick for Christmas, and boy was my daughter thrilled! The batteries are going to wear out quickly! The doll is very nicely made, her gown is lovely, and the signing clips are just the right volume, not too loud, and the sound quality is good. I thought the music would be annoying after awhile, but it's not loud or distorted, so maybe it won't get tedious. The olny issue I've noticed is that Erika's hair was matted when she was opened, and I don't know that most little girls would be careful enough with a brush to take care of it. (Barbies with curly hair all have the tendency to matt up, and it's a headache to brush.)
But, the doll's beautiful, and because my six yr old got Anneliese from Santa too, my gilrs are going to enjoy acting out the movie.

I got these because my two girls are new to Barbie and loved this movie. Much anticipation of these toys. I love them. They are beautiful dolls and well made. I don't like the fact that barbies come with so many miniscule pieces. And they sing well but getting them to sing together is very difficult. You have to press the buttons at the EXACT SAME time. Was hard for me to do it but having one girl each holding a doll trying to time it right? forget it. They still love them. I highly recommend for any Princess lovers.

I love these dolls just as much as I do the movie-as with any other Barbie Mattel has put out from the Barbie movies-they are beautiful and the detail is great, but the singing is an absolutely wonderful addition to the Barbies. I bought 2 of each for my girls(gotta buy in doubles)both Erika and Princess Annaliese. I have not given them to my girls yet-(Christmas gift this year)but I could not help myself to test them out. Being born in the late 60's there really were not too many choices at the time for different Barbies-so of course I was intrigued to have some playtime with them. Completely adorable and I am sure I will be hearing for quite a long time to come "I"M JUST LIKE YOU.....YOU"RE JUST LIKE ME" echoing through the house.

I bought this doll for my younger sister for Christmas and I was very glad I did. Erika has a very pretty dress on and her shoes have not fallen off yet. My sister especially likes the songs the doll plays, which is not that irritating all things considered. Overall I'd recommend this doll as a wonderful gift for a young girl.

We have both the dolls and they play with them non-stop and sing the songs to each other, it;s great to watch them playing like that. They are 2 and 4.

The doll itself is wonderful. The hair has matted less than the other barbies we have. The batteries *still* haven't died (10 months later!)

The dress, though. The dress has fallen apart. It wasn't even played with that much, as it was taken off almost immediately so the girls could get to the button on the back to play the song over (and over and over). The dress is falling apart at the seams.

We also hunted down the wedding set, and the white wedding dress is doing the same thing. So, don't buy the doll for the dress!
