4.0 out of 5 stars Cute...very cute
I don't know if this toy is worth the price or not. The doll interacts a little with the movie - not as much as my daughter would like.

The cat is also a battery vampire. It's cute when the batteries aren't drained, but when they get drained, the cat sounds posessed. LOL This was with new batteries put in when we got the doll and burnt out less than a...

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money my daughter is very disappointed
My daughter just received this for her 5th birthday yesterday. She loves the movie and was very excited to open this (as I told her it was too expensive and Grandma got it for her). Anyway, we just went this morning to buy the required batteries. This does not interact with the movie as the commercial portrays. It comes with an audio CD that it barely if at all interacts...

The cat is also a battery vampire. It's cute when the batteries aren't drained, but when they get drained, the cat sounds posessed. LOL This was with new batteries put in when we got the doll and burnt out less than a month later.

My daughter does love Serafina, though. She carries her around the house all the time and brings her to bed. This alone makes the toy worth it for us.

4.0 out of 5 stars Meeeoooww!!!, December 27, 2004

I bought two Serafina cats for my two girls(yep gotta buy in doubles) and I think it is adorable-it does react with the cd provided with the cat and it does react with the movie dvd-another thing it does is react to the computer when you go to Barbie.com and play the Princess and the Pauper game-all you do is the same thing as if you were using it with the cd-place the jewlery box and Serafina in front of the computer speaker and she will react to the game on the computer-not too many reactions, but she does react. Works well in the car too-just dont forget to bring the jewlery box and try not to stop short-otherwise you'll get a fat lip or get a black eye from the jewlery box flying towards you -I speak from experience.HAH!!
Being a cat person myself-I wanted the girls to have this even if we had not purchased the movie-very adorable and I love it when she asks you "Would you kiss my nose" and she kisses you back when you kiss her. I would recommend it-but as a previous reviewer had said "It is a battery vampire" for certain, but then again, what battery operated toys isn't? You will see your little girl smile from ear to ear with eyes wide open, when she first sees Serafina react to the cd or movie.

Anyway, we just went this morning to buy the required batteries. This does not interact with the movie as the commercial portrays. It comes with an audio CD that it barely if at all interacts with. The box must be within 6" of the speaker and the cat with a certain distance from that. It did not work at all although we followed all the directions. The biggest disappointment was the false portrayal that the cat works with the movie (we watch this movie several times a day and the movie is excellent). The cat does talk and move when the paw is pushed and she is happy with that but for the money, this is a complete waste and will be returned. She can get the stuffed wolfie and sarafina cats for $8.00 that she will be just as happy with

I like that she is really great. I like to pet her and she looks just like the realy live serifina princess cat in the movie. I love her jewlery and crown. We do not use her batteries because her movements and purring is very scarey. Plus, I like to use my imagination. I would tell all the little girls who like this movie to buy Serifina. My name is Emily and I am 5 yrs old.

This cat is fun because it talks to you, but you need the barbie movie for it to be more fun. It is pretty durable, but since it has batteries you can't do certain things with it. It is not educational. This toy is fun because it knows when certain parts of the movie are coming.

My little girl wanted this so bad for her 3rd birthday, but when we opened it,it would not work with the movie. After about a week her dad got the idea he was going to open the little box up and try to fix it.all it took was him mess with the connectors, they weren't touching the batteries and now it works, and our little girl loves it!

It's cute. I'm glad I found it as my daughter had wanted one for a while, but for the price, is way too mechanical for my taste, it does make a weird sound when the tail and head move.
You also have to manually turn it on and off. Takes away from it...I'm not sure I'd pay this much money again for this kind of toy, but over all, I'd have to say my daughter is happy, so I'm happy too.

My daughter bugged me to tears for months for Serafina. I finally bought her and the dvd. The doll interacts a little with the cd but did nothing when we tried her out on the dvd. My daughter grew bored with it within a couple of weeks and now Serafina sits on top of the dresser collecting dust. I paid $40.00 for this useless toy. Serafina uses up batteries like a starving kitty. I do not recommend this toy at all.

We had no idea how to make this work, until we read a review. You MUST take out the battery in the bottom of the jewelry box inside where the battery goes. After we did this, it works like a charm. Our 5 year old LOVES it. It was def. worth $20!!!
