In order to hear both songs, you have to pull out the plastic tab on her lower back, otherwise you just get the sample clip. (It only plays the chorus.) It would be cool if you could download 2 entire songs on her!

This doll is gorgeous! Why didn't they have Barbies like that when I was growing up. LOL!! The Princess/Popstar doll comes with a beautiful Barbie in a flowing pink and sparkly gown and flowing golden blonde hair. Touch her neck and she sings two songs for you in her split personality role. I gave this doll to a friend's daughter who absolutely loved it. Her eyes literally bugged out of her head when she saw the doll. Barbie is such a brand name you can trust to begin with, but this doll really shines out with her extra features, blingy look, and tie-in to the Barbie movie of the same name. Made me want to get down on the floor and start playing dolls immediately. Great product!

My two girls went through a period of total infatuation with Barbie, her friends, and their countless outfits. They loved the idea of dressing Barbie and her pals in beautiful clothes, making up their own adventures. They would play with them with each other and with their friends. Before they became hooked, my wife and I thought they just might overlook this popular toy. How wrong we were.

We got this Princess & the Popstar Barbie for our granddaughter, who is 2 1/2 years old. She's not especially a doll person and prefers to play with small Sesame Street figures, farm animals, and a small chipmunk family -- anything she can hold and carry around.

The Barbie doll was new to her and she initially enjoyed pressing the heart on Barbie's necklace to hear her sing. Though the package states that Barbie sings two songs, the one we gave our granddaughter sings only a chorus of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun."

We were prompted to get this because of its predominance of the color pink. Our granddaughter loves anything pink. However, getting the clothes on and off proves a chore for her little hands. This can be frustrating, so it might be advisable for an adult to help manipulate Barbie's attire.

The doll is designed so that Barbie has two identities -- princess and pop star -- so kids can change her whenever the spirit moves them. Giving this Barbie to our granddaughter was nostalgic for me, as it was for our daughter, who immediately joined her daughter on the sofa as she showed her all of Barbie's secrets.

She's a Barbie, and looks like every other Barbie, with two exceptions. First, her skirt was very hard to remove. My seven-year-old needed help with that, in fact, at first we thought it didn't come off at all. And then it turned out that the bodice is painted onto the doll's body. Again, fine, but for many girls, I think the whole point of Barbies is changing the clothes, so in that respect, Tori doesn't work that way. Also, she has a voice box, controlled by a button at her neck that plays a version of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and another song from the Princess and the Popstar video. There is no volume control, so I would say that's a drawback. My daughter seems to like it though, and isn't that what matters?

Nice toy for a girl at 4 yrs of age. The changing color of the hair is the attraction for little girls. It is a bonus that she sings.

My daughter loved this movie so I thought I would gift her with the "transforming" doll. Wish I hadn't bothered. You know those kind of toys that become a total PITA because your child is so frustrated by them, and then you're constantly helping your kid get it to work properly, etc? Well, this is one of those toys. Not only does it not transition easily, but it is near resistant to the point you feel like you might break it. I would just save your money unless you don't care about it transforming. Also, it's kind of cheesy in that the difference is the pink hair vs the blond and the short dress vs the long, you can plainly see the princess side as you play with the rock star side of the doll...since it's basically the flip/twist of the hair/crown (which remains visible, too) and it's kind of funny because when you twist the hair around to make the rock star, the bangs become the back of the head and it looks like your kid took scissors to it, but nope...that's how she came to us. Fortunately, we only paid $14 something for it or I would be annoyed. :)

My 4-year old is in love with the Barbie Princess & The Popstar movie, so I was thrilled to be able to give her this transforming Barbie from the movie to play with. With a simple push of the jewel in the doll's necklace she sings 2 hit songs from the movie (which are catchy tunes that will stick in your head), and with a pull of a string in the back her dress transforms from the princess outfit to a more fashion-glam looking popstar outfit - my daughter was able to do this part herself after seeing me do it once. Transforming the doll's hair takes a bit more practice for a younger child - it even took me a try or two to get the hang of how to turn the hair. I found it best to hold the doll between my knees with just her head free, so the body is stationary while turning the hair around. The doll is very eye-catching and fun to play with, especially when she sings. Of course I had to go buy the matching Transforming Keira doll, so my daughter would have the set to play with together.

A little pricier than your average plain Barbie, but considering that it sings and transforms both hair and clothes I think it's worth it, this is a very fun doll.

My 4 year old loves this Barbie among any Barbie she has ever had!! The popstar side does have a bit of a messy head but my daughter loves the princess mode the best so its not an issue. She loves the songs and the way the dress changes. As a mom, I wish I had had one of these when I was little!! :) Recommend this for any little princess!

Very difficult to blend pink hair to make her a pop star rather than princess. Only plays one song and the box said two - when you press her necklace she plays "Princesses just want to have fun" . I felt it was pricey in the store but through Amazon I got a great buy! I saved $10 buying through Amazon.

Having reviewed a number of Barbie dolls, using the young ladies in my 4-5th Sunday School Class as "Review Assistants," we found Barbie The Princes & the Popstar a great Barbie I thought it was nice because it wasn't too complicated. The young ladies liked it because it "was very pretty" and it was fun to hear her sing.

To go between the "Princess" mode and the "Popstar" mode, one swivels the top of Barbie's head. I was surprised when none of the girls said anything about this, so I'm guessing Barbie's been doing stuff like this already. With her head one way, Barbie has lang blond hair. When it's the swiveled, her hair has a pink streak. To hear both songs, you need to remove the plastic strip under the dress that's sort of like one you see to keep the batteries from being used. While everyone easily recognized Cindy Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," no one, myself included, seemed to have heard the second song. It's a pleasant song, but not one anyone had heard before.

Barbie's dress is sort of a reversible one, and my review assistants had no trouble changing it out. When Barbie's in her "pop" mode, the long dress becomes a dress train.

Overall, it's a great Barbie, and one that will get attention from your youngster and all of their friends.
