High Quality Streisand was 'The Concert' Video and CD. It was professional 'Top Drawer' all the way. I did not get a chance to see her live performance, but if the CD were a tape, I would have worn it out by now. The Video, well I need to replace that......it is very good, and I am not surprised it got a five star, from others. I have always enjoyed Babs and she never seems to let us down. My favorite part of 'The Concert Video' is when she does the psychatrist scenes. She is hilarious when she states: 'Have I ever seen a psychatrist? ' Slapstic Streisand....performs well. My favorite song is from Yentil. She does such a good blend with her alter voice in the screen video version. The blend is very well done. I have shown this video to anyone that wants to watch it. It is a favorite at my parties. People want to see it over, and over again. It is a crowd favorite.

She's older, wiser, and her voice has mellowed, but oh....There's nothing like Streisand LIVE. This television special is truly incredible. It starts with a mesmerizing editing job during the overture. By the time Marvin Hamlisch conducts "People" and Barbra makes her appearance (backstage video of her approaching the stage entrance) your spine is tingling! She steps onstage and the Arrowhead Pond audience goes crazy. Barbra sings "As If We Never Said Goodbye" and your eyes well up with tears!

The first act Barbra arranges around a psychiatrist theme -- couches and 60's songs! Ahh!

The second act is pure concert: Barbra on a stool singing great songs. When she launches into an incredible version of "Lazy Afternoon" you wonder why Barbra doesn't drag more great songs like this out of her past and sing them live. Incredible!

The climax (before 3 encores) is a medley from YENTL. When Barbra sings WITH HERSELF on "Piece of Sky" you'd think she'd blow the roof off the Arrowhead Pond! It's truly remarkable.

Buy it! Rent it! Own it! Barbra, sing live and release everything live!!

I just re-watched this video after several years, and all the goosebumps are still there. It also re-confirms a fact: There is NO ONE alive on the planet today who is remotely as talented as Barbra Streisand. Though the days of her visibility and selling records in the big numbers might as well be considered pre-historic, she remains a true living legend, with any of the hype that surrounds celebrity today being totally unnecessary. I probably hadn't listened to her recordings or thought much about her in years, at the time of this concert. When I viewed it, it re-confirmed to me what true talent is, which you don't expect anymore, when the likes of Britney Spears are "superstars." Barbra in this concert is not only filled with humanity, charm, and humility, but "the voice" is as near perfect as any of her recordings....better, really. What might have been considered self-indulgence by anyone else, here, is only fascinating...she has the audience literally rising out of their seats at a mere gesture. There are many highlights, too many to mention. If you're a fan, this is truly the "ultimate event." If not, you should watch it anyway, to see first hand what is meant by "God given talent" There has never been anyone like Barbra Streisand, and there never will be.

I was among the lucky few thousand New Yorkers to get a decent seat at Madison Square Garden July of 1994 and see Ms. Streisand in person. Trust me,the video captures the electricity of the evening. Barbra can do no wrong and this perfect capturing of a perfect concert is the best. I taped it off of HBO and never did purchase a video copy for myself, which I must do now in fear that my poor tape will just disintegrate.

The evening was electric with Ms. Streisand commanding the audience of 1,200 or more fans. The selection and flow of songs and material was perfect. Starting with some old favorites going to the movie years and ending with some of her classics.

This will stand the test of time. It's a must for everyone who's ever seen or heard Barbra. Trust me, you will be glad you have this in your library.

When Barbra embarked on this tour in 1994 no one doubted she would be in good voice, or that it would be an event to remember, but few people could have predicted how entertaining the show was to non-streisand fans. Im myself am a fervent Streisand friends, but the people whom I have showed this video some just as fervent streisand haters enjoyed it immensly. Barbra's brilliant selection of song(some hits and some litle known gems) combined originality of the performances, i.e. a brilliant Yentl Medly where she duets with herself in a rousing, but surprisingly not egocentric rendition of Piece of Sky, impress fans and non fans alike. Despite a few scratchy notes, she had recently recovered from laryngitis, vocally she was superb. If you like babs or even if you dont you will appreciate the brilliance of this 2-hour performance, she proves she IS the diva of the concert stage.

it's a great show hearing Barbra Streisand perform Live.she does a fantastic job all the way during the performance.it's classic Streisand.

If you are like me and you havent seen Streisand's classic television special's or concert's on video,this is a most have for youre collection.Her voice sounds excellent and she looks more beautiful then ever.

My Husband & I saw Barbra Streisand in San Jose in 1994.
We loved the show. She has been an inspiration to me for years.
I purchased "The Concert" and to my disapointment the duo
that she did with herself was not on the DVD....Why is that?

It just doesn't get any Grander than this. This is Barbra at her finest! Her duet with Marlon Brando is nothing short of genius.Some of my favorite moments are "Rain On My Parade" and "On a Clear Day".

Anyone who is a Barbra Streisand fan will love this video!!! Not only does Barbra give her usual breathtaking performance, but the interaction she has with the audience is wonderful. It was so nice to see her mother in the audiance, you could tell that Barbra was happy to have her with her. I cried and cheered both at the same time! I don't know how she does it, I could see the anticipation in her face when she first walked out on the stage, to be replaced with the realization that she truly had come home. Barbra is truly a legend, and an inspiration to all! Thanks Barbra!!!!!!!
