Owning a small traditional coastal house, I keep an eye out for books on coastal decorating. This book does not disappoint, especially if you love rooms inspired by British Colonial and traditional style. The rooms are beautifully done. For someone who loves a coastal or nautical style done well and without being over the top, there are pages of beautifully photographed examples. While its clear these rooms were done professionally, they offer inspiration in architectural moldings and detail, color, furniture and its placement, fabrics and accessories that thoughtfully and artfully done. Destined to be a classic reference.

The first thing that drew me to this book is the cover. Makes me want to climb right into that room and have a seat! I was anxiously awaiting this book and Barclay did not disappoint. His rooms are comfortable yet so elegant. Even though my home is not coastal, I can bring some of the seaside elements to my space which makes me feel like I am home away from home! You will love this book!!
