After reading all of these negative reviews regarding the Rev-er Upper, I noticed that many people were expecting this product to be a primer. However, Bare Escentuals sells Prime Time as a primer. If you look at the ingredients listed on the Rev-er Upper, salicylic acid is the 5th product listed...which is also the same ingredient in many acne medicines. This product is designed to exfoliate your skin by drying it out. I have used the Rev-er Upper only twice and my skin started to peel (like it's supposed to). Since I've never had bad acne, I don't really use it unless I am having a breakout and want my skin to dry out. But I can see this being a good product for those with more acne issues. As for the Prime Time, I've never used it...I use Smashbox Photo Finisher and swear by it.

I recently tried Skin Rev-er Upper BEFORE actually trying any of the Bare Escentuals foundations. I love it. My complexion feels and looks great. For me it doesn't even feel like I'm wearing anything - very lightweight. I didn't care for their foundations (since I never wear any) but will continue using the Rev-er Upper for a clear, beautiful complexion!

I didn't understand how important this little product was before I lost it and noticed an immediate difference in how my makeup looked. I went on vacation and skin rev-er upper was accidentally left behind, much to my dismay. I continued using the foundation without it and even thought I still used my usual moisturizer, my makeup just didn't look as smooth and flawless! Plus, I noticed that my skin without makeup wasn't as smooth or blemish free without the glycolic and salicylic acids. So the moral of the story is: skin rev-er upper really prepares your face for smooth and radiant application of bare minerals foundation.

Definitely get it in the starter kit, as it is quite expensive by itself!

I bought this when I got my bare escentuals starter kit. You definitely need this type of product to prep your skin for the makeup, otherwise it doesn't go on evenly. This product is designed for pairing with the makeup and it does what its supposed to do. However, it smelled like glue to me and I could feel the layer of it on my skin which made me feel like it was caked on. This of course, is comparing it to the Estee Lauder Idealist skin refinisher which makes your skin feel like velvet and makes your makeup go on flawlessly. Of course, this isn't an Estee Lauder commerical, so I think it works ok for the price and with the makeup. I wouldn't reccomend using it if you're not using the makeup with it.

This is the first time I have ever written a review. I must admit, when I first thought to give Bare Essentials a try, I wasn't holding on to any great expectations. However, I soon came to love the products!

I have very sensitive skin and I have to be careful what I actually apply to it. The minerals are great! They do not react with my skin, and most importantly, they contain sunscreen and they are endorsed by the Skin Cancer Foundation. Another big plus for me since I have already had trouble with skin cancer and it runs in my family. The more protection, the better!

I was so impressed with the mineral line that for my teenage daughter's recent birthday I purchased her a starter kit. I wanted to be sure she started off using this makeup because it is very natural, light, and doesn't seem to promote breakouts...something every teen girl wants! Inside her kit was the Skin Rev-er Upper. I asked to borrow it, and LOVE it! I apply it under the moisturizer and it just makes your face feel great and the makeup goes on smoothly (although I never had problems applying the makeup before using it) and it seems to have longer staying power throughout the day.

If anyone is hesitant about trying the line...I would tell them not to be! Its worth the investment.

The Bare Escentuals makeup products are impressive and are enhanced by the use of the Bare Vitamins skin Rev-er Upper lotion. Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid clear up your complexion and help to exfoliate dead skin which then leaves the perfect canvas for the powdery mineral foundations. Calming Oat Kernel extract sooths the skin and leaves you with an even complexion. It seems they have all the right ingredients in this formula including Vitamin A and E. Use this alternately with Derma E Peptides Plus mixed with a little JASON Ester-C Hyper -C Serum (use at night) and you may notice your skin becoming more vibrant, fresh and smooth in a few months. This lotion is also included in the starter kits.

I've been using this product for 3 years now. I have combination oily skin and wanted a light moisturizer that didn't clog my pores or make me feel greasy. This product is super light when you put it on, dries pretty quickly while keeping my skin moisturized and clear. I used to have moderate breakouts (about 10 zits times per month), but after using this I've noticed that I've been getting less zits (maybe two per month). I use it under BE bareMinerals (also my all-time favorite foundation) and it works great. I use this product day and night. I don't use any other moisturizer. Although, I've noticed that in the winters this product doesn't moisturize enough, I'm scared that other products will leave me greasy. I might have to use Rev-er Upper in my Tzone and then back to Kiehl's for the super dry areas (around my eyes and mouth). I don't see myself wanting to switch to a different product anytime soon. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a moisturizer that's light and nongreasy while still keeping skin moist, fresh and clear.

I got this in my Bare Escentuals starter kit, and I really hated the way it smelled! like other reviewers I thought it smelled like glue, very chemical like. I love bare escentuals makeup,and I noticed that after using the rev-er upper and the makeup that my skin looked amazing, refreshed, so I did an experiment and stopped using the rev-er upper and just stuck to my regular routine of moisturizers that I have used for 20 years and the makeup, and my skin still looked just as radiant, so I am not sure what exactly the Rev-er upper does besides smell really bad.

I just wanted to give a thumbs up to this product. I always had acne-prone skin and was very sensitive to any product on my face. This product contains a small amount of salycilic acid to combat that, but not enough to cause the other demon - dry skin. It provides the perfect base for Bare Minerals makeup.

I know of people who have tried Bare Minerals and not found success, and I honestly believe it is because they used it without Skin Revver-Upper as a base. I was lucky that it all came for me in a starter kit. Since then, I'm on my second bottle. It does last for a while, so the price is worth it.

I have been using BE for almost a year now, and I haven't noticed much of a difference between using the Revver-Upper and not using it. I have combination skin, and rosacia, and after 11 months of use I don't feel that my skin is any better than it was before I began using the Revver Upper with the other BE products. Save your money for BE eyeshadows or lip gloss!
