Book Description

November 16, 2001 Bare Facts Video Guide
"The Bare Facts Video Guide" helps you locate actresses' nude scenes on video tapes and DVDs. The entry for each actress lists their film and television credits. The films they have disrobed in appear in bold face followed by a rating on how "good" the scene is, the hours and minutes when it occurs and a description of what's uncovered. There are no photographs and it only reviews "mainstream" actresses in their G through R-rated films.

There are sections for actresses and their cross-referenced titles only—no actor information. The page count is over 1,000 pages. There are over 3,900 actresses and 4,000 film titles listed. This edition was printed in October 2001. (The 1998 Edition was printed 3 years before.)

About the Author

Craig Hosoda is a Software Engineer. He grew up in Silicon Valley, California, then went to the University of California at Berkeley where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. After graduation, he worked at Hewlett-Packard for two years before getting a programming job at Industrial Light and Magic, George Lucas’ special effects division of Lucasfilm Ltd. (Craig’s film credits can be found in The Golden Child, The Goonies and *batteries not included.)

While working at ILM, the seeds for The Bare Facts Video Guide were planted during a casual conversation one day with his friend, Marty Brenneis. While working on the film, Howard the Duck, Marty asked Craig about Lea Thompson’s film credits. When Marty didn’t know about her nude scene in All the Right Moves, Craig thought, "There should be a book that lists this type of important information in one place..."

After returning to Silicon Valley in 1987 to raise a family with his wife, he began research for the book during the evenings while working as a software engineer during the day. Unfortunately, it was difficult to balance a full-time job, work on The Bare Facts and have time for his family, so in July 1990, he quit his regular job to devote his life to uncovering the bare facts.

4.0 out of 5 stars What you Want to See is What You Get, August 4, 2005
This review is from: The Bare Facts Video Guide-2001 Edition (Paperback)
Mr. Hosada has been publishing this information since his earliest version in 1989. The earlier versions included "Actors" as well as "Actresses." In the late 1990s he released "Updates", additions to previous volimes. This edition has "Actresses" only. He has continued to update the filmographies of the actresses, so you can see other works, as well as the "Bare Facts", which makes it useful as a reference. I have not cross-referenced from the earlier editions, but the book doesn't seem to have dropped earlier information to add new information (other than the deletion of "Actors") unlike some reference books on films on TV and Video, where older movies get dropped to allow room for new ones.

His ratings are factual, and he doesn't use "cutesy" terminology.

Desirable addition to a movie documentation collection as well as an incentive to look for obscure movies to see some of the "Bare Facts."

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT RESOURCE MATERIAL, January 3, 2005
This review is from: The Bare Facts Video Guide-2001 Edition (Paperback)
Absolutely the best resource material for videos. The amount of detail and exact time sequences is unrivaled. This is the type of job I want. The only downer is that this book is not updated on a yearly basis and we have to wait every 3-4 years for new material. I keep up on the releases and am always one of the first to order the book.

Sometimes you can find the CD-ROM 2001 Edition for sale here on Amazon under this book listing. 2001 was the last year this book or CD was published!

The Bare Facts Video Guide program runs from your computer's hard disk while it reads its Data File from the CD-ROM disk in your CD-ROM drive.

CDROM Version ----For PC or MAC.
Windows 95/98/ME/NT 4.0/2000
Mac OS 8.6/9.1/X in Classic Mode
I have found that it installs and works with Windows XP SP2.

The 2001 CD-ROM edition contains more information than the 2001 paperback book edition. The following subjects are only in this CD-ROM version, NOT in the paperback version!
male actors listings
unknown actresses appearances
'one-timer' actresses appearances
female magazine appearances
