4.0 out of 5 stars What you Want to See is What You Get
Mr. Hosada has been publishing this information since his earliest version in 1989. The earlier versions included "Actors" as well as "Actresses." 3.0 out of 5 stars Decent enough, but not the ultimate
This book is a good alternative to Mr. Skin's Skincyclopedia, but alas, is still not as complete as Mr. Skin's website. Therein is a very complete, and constantly updated database of nudes throughout film history. For a fee, you can even see videoclips and still photos of all there is to see. Okay book.

Great site. Go there now!

4.0 out of 5 stars What you Want to See is What You Get, August 4, 2005
This review is from: The Bare Facts Video Guide-2001 Edition (Paperback)
Mr. Hosada has been publishing this information since his earliest version in 1989. The earlier versions included "Actors" as well as "Actresses." In the late 1990s he released "Updates", additions to previous volimes. This edition has "Actresses" only. He has continued to update the filmographies of the actresses, so you can see other works, as well as the "Bare Facts", which makes it useful as a reference. I have not cross-referenced from the earlier editions, but the book doesn't seem to have dropped earlier information to add new information (other than the deletion of "Actors") unlike some reference books on films on TV and Video, where older movies get dropped to allow room for new ones.

His ratings are factual, and he doesn't use "cutesy" terminology.

Desirable addition to a movie documentation collection as well as an incentive to look for obscure movies to see some of the "Bare Facts."

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT RESOURCE MATERIAL, January 3, 2005
This review is from: The Bare Facts Video Guide-2001 Edition (Paperback)
Absolutely the best resource material for videos. The amount of detail and exact time sequences is unrivaled. This is the type of job I want. The only downer is that this book is not updated on a yearly basis and we have to wait every 3-4 years for new material. I keep up on the releases and am always one of the first to order the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Also available as CD-ROM Edition covering alot more material!, March 2, 2011

Sometimes you can find the CD-ROM 2001 Edition for sale here on Amazon under this book listing. 2001 was the last year this book or CD was published!

The Bare Facts Video Guide program runs from your computer's hard disk while it reads its Data File from the CD-ROM disk in your CD-ROM drive.

CDROM Version ----For PC or MAC.
Windows 95/98/ME/NT 4.0/2000
Mac OS 8.6/9.1/X in Classic Mode
I have found that it installs and works with Windows XP SP2.

The 2001 CD-ROM edition contains more information than the 2001 paperback book edition. The following subjects are only in this CD-ROM version, NOT in the paperback version!
male actors listings
unknown actresses appearances
'one-timer' actresses appearances
female magazine appearances

The Bare Facts Video Guide helps you locate nude scenes on video tapes and DVDs.
The entry for each person lists:
-their film and television credits,
-the films they have disrobed in appear in bold face followed by a rating on how "good" the scene is,
-the hours and minutes location on the DVD/tape when it occurs and
-a description of what parts of their body are uncovered.

There are no photographs.
However, you can collect your own photos of your favorite people in the special image database in this CD program.

4.0 out of 5 stars Practical Guide, June 7, 2008
This review is from: The Bare Facts Video Guide-2001 Edition (Paperback)
This is one reference book that has only one purpose in mind. And the author does the job in readable, practical detail, giving us star ratings and descriptions of various nude scenes. Unlike the 1996 edition, this one only has information on actresses. This is no intellectual guide for movie buffs, but it's quite useful for those with an eye on actresses in the buff.
