Leather like consistancy but real mango taste,

At first I was really unhappy with the leathery consistancy. It was difficult to chew and stuck in my teeth. However I have to say that after finishing the first bag I'm hooked. It has a really great mango taste. If you don't like to eat fresh sliced mango's you won't like this but if you do it makes a great snack that is portable (I keep in my desk at work, in the car and in my purse) and it is very WW friendly.

I have tried many unsweetened, unsulphured mangoes, along with sweetened. The "mangoes" in these packages are just terrible. They are these little tiny pieces about the size of a scrabble piece, and are very thin - there is not a hint of moisture in them, and they have some type of scoring pattern on one side. I felt like I was eating a paper product. I do not recommend these to anyone! There are many many better options than this type - if you've ever tried the ones from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods Market....go back there! These are not even from the same family. If I can say one good thing, it is that they are organic. I thought the price was good, but the quality tells me why!

I just received my dried mangos today and feel compelled to write a review. Mango is one of my favorite fruits, but I braced myself for less than perfect taste based on the existing rating for this product. I tried some and the flavor is fresh & sweet, just as I had hoped. Moreover, the texture is semi-soft, neither mushy nor too hard on the teeth. Yes, there's an aroma that is typical of many tropical fruits that may take a little getting used to, for those not familiar with tropical fruits.
Totally excellent & healthy! If someone gave me this as a gift, I would be very appreciative indeed. Now I will be more inclined to try other flavors. I'm a very satisfied customer!

I read ALL The reviews before buying this, and so I only bought 1 box. After I tried it (had 3 bags already), I actually went back and bought another box. The taste is totally fine, for me, and the kids. I've had other moms ask me where I got this. It's organic, no added anything, and definitely sweet enough. Absolutely it's not as good as the Phillipines Dried Mangoes sold at Costco, but that stuff is basically candy, as another reviewer pointed out re. other types of dried fruit. I'm TRYING to buy healthy snacks for my family. My kids love this stuff.
The only really annoying thing about this is the small squares...strange small size. I guess that's another plus for little kids, though. Slows them down when they're eating!

Yummy Mangos,

I always hated dried mangos that have tons of sugar added to them. The artificial sweetness detracts from the flavor of real mangos. Fortunately, the Bare Fruit mangos have no additives or preservatives, so you really taste the natural sweetness of mangos. I like the portions in the bag and I love the taste.
However, there are two things I dislike about the Bare Fruit mangos: 1. I thought that I would get long slices of dried mangos; however, Bare Fruit mangos are half-inch squares. So, they basically are a little smaller than the size of a typical keyboard. 2. The dried mangos at times stick to my molars, which I dislike. All in all, if you like to eat dried mangos without the addition of artifical sugar, I still recommend this product. It really is very tasty.

I've tried LOTS of dried mangos - this has to be the worst. Tastes like slightly flavored cardboard. Definitely not an older child or adult snack.
Since I purchased an entire case (stupid me) I'm going to try adding the mango pieces to various recipies. Maybe a mango chutney. Otherwise this was a total waste of money and is going in the trash.

taste is good. consistency is awful. Too thick to be a chip and too thin to be chewy. kind of like a dried leave. But i like the taste and it seems to be growing on my son too. And it may feel a little like cardboard but it is good for you.

Small squares of dehydrated organic mango with nothing more. These taste just as they should and they were a great value. I dehydrate fruit and vegetables and believe me, it was a wonderful opportunity to purchase fruit that looked and tasted better than fruit I'd spent hours preparing and storing. I'm not saying I'll get rid of the dehydrator, but it sure was nice to purchase mangoes that were fresh, flavorful and well packaged and they didn't break the bank! I've ordered two more boxes for friends who loved them as well.

Mangos are the #1 fruit in the world but they don't grow in NJ. I have eaten these dry and rehydrated and enjoyed them both ways. I'm not sure what other buyers don't like. This is an organic product without any sweeteners. If you're used to sugared-up dried fruits, perhaps you should keep eating them and avoid this healthy alternative.

These mangoes are just like what we affectionately refer to as "mango leather" from the bulk bins at Whole Foods except chopped in smaller pieces. They are very chewy, so if you have dental problems, it's probably best to skip them. However, they are flavorful and yummy. They work well for a portable healthy snack for kids.
