VERSATILE, ORGANIC, DELICIOUS, ANTI-INFLAMMATORY,

Some brands of dried cherries cause me severe cramping. Not these! If you are sensitive to salicylates (i.e., can't take NSAiDs), then go easy on your serving size.Otherwise, these are healthy, delicious, convenient and SATISFYING. As I am learning to manage my blood sugar, I find that I can eat just 3 or 4 of these and it satisfies any sugar craving I am having, PLUS extends the time between "munchy attacks". They are a nice addition to mixed green salad, too, especially combined with a small handful of walnuts or almonds. I like to drop 1 or 2 dried cherries into a cup of hot green tea for a delicious, springtime flavor boost. (or try Happy Skye Cherry Green Tea, also available from Amazon).

Gritty and tasteless,

I ordered this brand because it had the least amount of sugar. The cherries were gritty (dirty?, sand?) and did not have the tart taste of locally purchased dried cherries. Now I'm stuck with a whole box of them that no one in my family wants to eat.

Great Tasting! - Some Pits,
By Sandy Lazer (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bare Fruit Organic Dried Cherries, 2.6-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 24) (Grocery)
I bought these and really enjoyed them. There is a note of caution on the back of the bag stating be careful of pits. I've had 2 bags so far, and have found 3 pits between the 2 bags. I will let you know if the future shows to be excessive too. I will sacrifice watching for pits, because at least I know it is natural, without pesticides and chemicals. If you are looking for something very sweet, don't order this. It is typical of other dried fruit, which is generally not as sweet as a very ripe piece of fruit. But, if you are looking for the nourishment and vitamins of good fruit, but can't get fresh or want the convenience of carrying dry fruit, this is for you. Makes for a great, nutritious snack.

These are great for baking! You have to love the ingredients, 100% Organic cherries. NOTHING else! No added sugar etc. Cherries are a highly sprayed crop. You really want to eat only organic cherries... no creepy chemicals & better for you! When they are dried, if non-organic you get a concentrated dose of chemicals...yuck! I will buy these again!

I wanted to like these,

I'm sure they are quite healthy. But I hated the taste --- they really had no taste, and a funny aftertaste. It might very well be the base flavor of whatever type of cherries they started with, so others might be OK with it. Texture was OK, mine are not gritty, but honestly, I'm going to throw them out.

We eat a lot of dried cherries. I purchased these for the convenience of small individual bags. Well, the small bags were definitely convenient, but the cherries were awful. Another reviewer said they were tasteless. Would that they were! These tasted nasty. I don't believe they were spoiled, just bad tasting. I can't describe the flavor they had - metallic maybe. Also, there was no consistency. Some cherries were plump and juicy while others were shrivelled and hard. Some were red and some were white/tan. Don't be fooled by the discount. These are inedible at any price. I suggest Traverse Bay dried cherries. Amazon sells them in a 4 pound package for a very good price and those cherries are great.

Good, although "pitty",

I like how these cherries taste: not very sweet. But, as some reviewers, mentioned, you need to take the "may contain occasional pit" warning literally. In every package I opened, several cherries contained pits.

These are so yummy that they do not last for the four servings that are recommended on the package!

I quite enjoy these cherries. They taste like raisins only better. (VitalChoice dried cherries make me uncomfortable physically because of added sugar.)

These dried cherries taste more like dried prunes. I was expecting a more cherry flavor. I will eat them, of course, but would not purchase them again.
