I saw this in a magazine and searched for a better price, which I found on Amazon. This stuff worked to melt the ice that was on my driveway, but did not live up to the "lasts for 2 weeks" ad. I have a 3 car garage and a driveway to match. I used the entire bottle on the driveway the first day before snow was perdicted. We only had an inch of snow and this did not work as advertised. I still had to shovel the driveway. Plus as a bonus I now have a nasty dark stain all over the concrete. The manufacturer said the stain will wash away with "time". I will not be ordering this again.

Keeps snow from packing down and sticking but you still need to shovel or sweep to remove al but very small amounts. Needs to be applied 1 to 2 hours before the snow ideally.

There are apparently 2 formulations of this product. The version which is dark brown as pictured in the product picture works well. The other version which is a pale tan color DOES NOT WORK AT ALL!
My first purchase of this product was of a sprayer with a one gallon bottle of solution. That one gallon bottle looked exactly like the pictured bottle in this product ad. It worked very well and immediately melted the ice and snow.
I ordered THIS product as a refill for my sprayer... However, although the label was the same for this product the actual contents of the bottle were a very pale tan color... These refills had absolutely no effect on the ice and snow...
Understanding this I now see why this product has many 5 star reviews and many 1 & 2 star reviews... Depends on which version you happen to get shipped to you...
I don't know what is going on here... However, I wonder if for some reason the manufacturer was forced to change the formulation and they are still selling it as the same product.
It would be better if there were 2 separate product listings.. Unfortunately no matter what the label says THESE TWO ARE NOT THE SAME PRODUCT!
I have attached a photo of the refill I purchased which DID NOT WORK.... You can see the color difference from the product photo...

Hope this helps someone else....

We had aggregate stairs and landing installed in the front many years ago and then discovered you cannot use salt or any salt products on the stairs during our Chicago winters. I have used bare ground on the stairs for years. No, it doesn't prevent you from having to shovel but it does help prevent ice from forming on the stone when applied according to directions. It is expensive but I only use it on the stairs, everything else we salt.

its not a bad product. the snow will cover the surface but its easier to clear the snow off then if you never sprayed the surface

when I uses this product I apply it a 1/2 hr.to an hour before snowfall, true you still have to shovel, but it keeps snow from adhering to the ground making it easy to shovel.

The weatherman could never get the forecast right. Therefore it seems if I sprayed the forecast was off, and via versa. The few times I sprayed and there was precipitation my walk was wet but not icy, also for an inch or so My sidewalk cleared it self.
There was no damage to plants nor did it track into the house.

The down side is it has a limited functional range, it can't be too cold.

I would recommend this product

I used it on my walk befor snow and it keep the snow either offr or from sticking on the walk so that I could shovel it off. We had a very heavy snow and I have 2 steps and was able to keep the snow off. Also sprayed it on my "Dish" and was able to to keep the snow off it. This is the 3 year I have used it and will continue to.
It did not work to well on the piles of snow but had 20" so don't think any thing would.

We live in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York -- which is another way of saying "Canada" -- and this product is our miracle drug for treating snow and ice. If you get it down before the snow starts, it keeps ice from forming. Reapplication between shoveling/snow-blowing maintains safe footing on our steps and steep driveway. Best of all, it is an organic by-product of distilling vodka and thus is absolutely safe for pets and plants. Conventional salt-based de-icers slowly eat away wooden decking and even hardscape like asphalt and concrete; not Bare Ground. Best of all, it doesn't damage floors and rugs when, inevitably, it gets tracked inside. Bare Ground isn't cheap, but there is nothing better or safer for entrances and other areas where protection matters as much as de-icing.

I used the product as directed. The sprayer worked very slowly and no matter which way I turned the nozzle, it just trickled out in streams. I used most of the product (before I got tired and cold) and it barely covered my 50 feet of sidewalk. The driveway was not even a consideration at that point. I still had ice and snow accumulate on the sidewalk and had to apply salt after I shoveled. Not the miracle product I was led to believe it would be.
