About the Author

Suzanne Toro is a dynamic mother of two who studied with Deepak Chopra, and has worked extensively in the areas of meditation, yoga and wellness (she is a certified Primordial Meditation Instructor).  She's also a successful entertainment executive, serving as the Creative Visionary & Strategist for media production for Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas, one of the most successful bands in the music industry today. Toro has suffered many hardships -- sexual abuse, losing a child, and dealing with a loved one's serious illness -- but she's used each experience as an opportunity to learn more about herself and earn a real life PhD in personal growth. With a young family, Toro needed to find a practical, realistic way to begin her own healing and liberation process. By employing simple tools in her everyday life, she was able to connect with her inner self and release the pain that led her back to her true self. She is committed to embodying authenticity and practicing what she preaches by reaching out to local, national and global communities to share her vision. Bare Naked Bliss provides simple tools anyone can use to cope with stress and pain, break down mental barriers, find deeper connections and discover their inner joyful, authentic self. The teachings of the book are extended through inspiring poetry, guided meditations and music created by Toro with Apl.de.Ap, singer/songwriter Anne Heaton, and other professional musicians. Toro has also developed "Bare Naked Dinners:" interactive dining experiences allowing participants to explore their inner truths through open communication and laughter shared while enjoying gourmet natural cuisine. In addition, she is currently serving as a liaison ("spirit bridge") between the mind-body natural approach to healing and traditional medicine. Working with doctors like Deepak Chopra, David Simon, the Simonton Cancer Center and others, she's become an authentic voice of their work, communicating their messages with grace and providing practical ways to integrate them into everyday life, together with her own meditation and wellness work. What if there was a way to let go of stress and suffering that was available to all and easily incorporated into daily life? Instead of spending thousands on therapy and psychotropic drugs, having to compromise one's religious beliefs or traveling around the world to find the secret to enlightenment, we just need to discover our own Bare Naked Bliss.

I highly recommend this inspiring read! Suzanne candidly shares her real and raw story of transformation towards embodying who she was born to be. She shares wisdom that all can benefit the individual on their own journey. I appreciated that she gave actionable tips on how to incorporate new ways of being into my life to help me on my own path towards living the life I was meant to live. My favorite quote in the book is, "Once you feel rooted in who you are, then you are ready to unleash your love and serve the world." I'm ready! Thank you Suzanne! :)

This book has everything! It's like the gum that the Violet girl chews in Willy Wonka -- it's a whole meal in one great book. Suzanne takes you on a bit of a roller coaster ride, and it's every bit as fun. It's one of those books that I easily identified with, and I haven't had any of the ups and downs that Suzanne got through.

There are so many nuggets of wisdom in her story, and so many opportunities for the reader to reflect and do a little self-exploration it's almost a "tool kit". I found myself re-reading her poetry and sort of visualizing the story. It's truly a unique read for something that could be considered "self-help". It's much more than that.

I'd recommended it to anybody who wants to be better (feel, get, or just BE bettere!). In fact, I think my business partner just swiped my copy since I've been talking about it all day.

Suzanne Toro's brave personal story of transformation through laying bare her sorrows and discovering her inner strength and joy is both a compelling memoir and an inspiring call to action. She candidly describes her own journey of healing without any self-pity, and provides the reader with beautifully simple, accessible strategies for releasing pain and experiencing more happiness: letting go, tapping into the power of silence (meditation), balancing the masculine and feminine energies within us, having compassion, and discovering the regenerative power of laughter. Toro's energy and true passion for helping others discover their own bliss and make deeper connections suffuses every page.

The amazing story that Suzanne shares is full of useful and transformative tools to lead you down your own healing path. Suffering is an experience most can relate to and through her own suffering Suzanne has driven straight to a place of contentment, joy and inner-bliss. You can't help but to laugh and cry as she reveals her personal story, ultimately taking you to a place that feels kind of like home. Her care for others is evident as she compassionately relays how you too can get there.

This book grabs you right away. I could picture the settings she describes as if I were there. I really like the way the author journeys through her life experiences from heartache to a place of peace. This book made me see that devastating personal events can shape ones future path for the better rather than be scars for life. I loved her poems. They were a nice touch.
