Georgie Zielinski has made a successful career in the hospitality industry and has managed to save a nest egg while doing it. When Georgie is faced with a new boss and working conditions she decides it’s time to pack up and buy the B&B she has always wanted.

Cade Hannigan has made his fair share of enemies in Rowan County. Born with a silver spoon Cade had taken a leaf from his father’s book and made sure everyone knew he was better than them and he could have whatever he wanted.

But things change, now Cade has nothing left of his old life including his so called friends after they realise his father gambled it all away before he died. When Georgie comes to town and buys the bed and breakfast she needs a handyman to help fix the place up and although Cade knows he doesn’t deserve a second chance Georgie is his last hope. Are second chances possible, can Georgie find her new beginning with the B&B and will Cade find the man he lost so long ago and build a new life here in Rowan County.

I have to be honest I wasn’t sure how Ms Holt was going to write Cade’s story or even if I could bring myself to ever like him. Well I have to say not only did I love Bare Naked, I found myself supporting Cade wanting him to find forgiveness in Rowan County and happiness with Georgie.

I adore reading series books, I always have so when I started Bare Naked and realized this was Cade's story the biggest egomaniac on the face of the planet from book 2 in this series, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book. In my review of Buck Naked, I had this to say about Cade, "I'll admit I really wanted to see Cade get his comeuppance from either Buck or Matt! Since this is a series though I'm hoping we'll eventually see this happen." Well, it didn't come from Buck or Matt but it did come and Cade was seriously stripped bare and left with nothing; no money, no friends, no job, and no life. What amazed me is how this author was able to take a character that was truly hated by so many readers and write him in a way that not only can you look beyond his past mistakes but you actually see him as a decent person. I was so surprised by my feelings about this hero and this story and as much as I've loved each book in this series this one is by far my favorite. Can you imagine; a favorite book in a series about a man I wanted annihilated off the face of the planet?

New in town and running from her past Georgie Zielinski is happy when three women ask her to join them one night in a local bar. Offering her advice and suggestions about the B&B she is renovating and warning her to look out for the drunk in the corner, Cade Hannigan. However, when Cade shows up on her doorstep offering to be her handyman and work hard she sees something in him and gives him a chance to prove himself.

I really loved the way these two fell into a relationship and the fact that even though they both felt a spark the minute they met, they kept to themselves. Cade because he had something to prove and Georgie because she was concerned about what her new friends would think.

When I met Cade Hannigan at the beginning of this book, I did not believe he was redeemable. I could not see him becoming a hero I could love. I kept thinking that he must be the villain, and then he hits rock bottom, and Ms. Holt’s true skill as a storyteller shows that everyone and I do mean everyone deserves a second chance.

Georgie is a great heroine, she’s a strong woman who doesn’t let the opinion of others color what she herself believes. She’s the strong one in this story, because she believes in Cade even when he stops believing in himself. I loved that. I love their chemistry together, and that while Georgie could have taken the easy path, she chooses to go for happiness and fall in love with Cade.

This was my first Naked Cowboy story I’ve read in the series, and it’s book four. That didn’t stop me from falling in love with this book and the characters. I even liked the other characters even when they were being a bit gossipy and at times harsh. Their actions made them human, and I appreciated that the author wasn’t afraid to show real humans with real flaws.

I definitely recommend this book, just push through the first impression of Cade, hold on, and it will get a million times better. It ended up being one of the best books I’ve read in a while.

I have loved this series from the first book. Desiree Holt is an awesome writer and never disappoints. Bare Naked is about a man who has gone from growing up with a silver spoon in his mouth all the way down to the town drunk. I admired his tenacity and persistence to be able to look at his life, not like what he saw, and make every effort to redeem himself. I cheered him on throughout the entire book. To be able to pick himself up and actually succeed in climbing the long hill to reform is certainly a man I can respect. I'm so glad he was able to reach his HEA.

I liked it. Didn't realize it was so short, but that was my fault. I didn't look to see how many pages it had. It's ok though. Sometimes it's nice to read a quick story, as long as it a good story, & this one was. I don't think anyone could ever change so fast, but hey, it made a good read.
First time I've read anything by this author. I plan to read more.
