Unforgivable,
By
This review is from: Bare-Tool Denali 565026 18-Volt Cordless 3/8-Inch Drill/Driver (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
A year after I bought the entire Denali 18v set, the BATTERIES ARE UNAVAILABLE. And the helpful little note from Amazon reads: "not sure if or when this item will be available." Amazon, this is absolutely unforgivable. At the very least, a responsible company would tell us if some other battery will fit the tool. And yet, Amazon still sells the 18v tools as "bare-tool," with no warning that batteries aren't available! And, yeah, after a year, the batteries (I have 2) are pretty much shot. The tool sure used to work nice back when it had batteries, though!

Can't expect much for the price,

It might be good for very light use, but within 3 months the chuck was bent on mine from hanging it on the side of a bucket (guess it banged against the side or something? Never dropped it or anything...first time this has happened on any of my tools). I really couldn't tell you much about it other than that...it hasn't worn out, but then again, I used it all of two times before I noticed the bent chuck.

A solid 18V drill for under 80.00. The 2 speed function makes screwing and drilling easy and the 1 hour charge time is great. Battery pack also swivels making it a little easier to use in tight spaces. This drill is more than adequate for around the home or shop.

Same drill and battery system as Drill Master,

Seriously it's a Drill Master style as well. It works. It's CHEAP and not made here (guess where). Some positive notes: It's CHEAP (aren't we all - That's why nothing is made in USA and we all shop at Walmart) and the batteries are rebuildable with twice the capacity however the charger takes twice as long. The Cons: It's Cheap (you must know this by now) and it wears out.
If your buying it to use once in a while and KNOW you'll only use it once in a while then it's fine. If your the type that will use it because you have more (you know the type "I only need it for web page and email nothing more... then use it for movie editing, watching videos and playing games) just pass on it now. Your a cheapskate for even considering it. Buy something good and it will outlast your purchase high (that is why we buy STUFF right?). For those crying about batteries, there are 13 available right now and of course harbour freight sells Drill Master brand. Also the company site offers 18v batteries as does batteries plus. Re-Search.

Incredible value.,

I couldn't afford anything more expensive, so I paid under 100 bucks for a three-tool set and didn't expect much -- just hoped it would last long enough for me to feel I got my money's worth and go buy something more reputable...
I'm simply amazed at how much value I got from this drill for such a small price tag. I've used this thing to drive hole saws for doorknobs, drive screws, countersink into hardwood, build a raised garden-bed, bust the rust on a bolt on my lawnmower, put up a mailbox post, etc. etc. and it hasn't failed me once. The battery on this thing lasts FOREVER. I moved into a new house and had a ton of work to do around the place, and it took me a good week to finally notice it slowing a bit -- so I switched out to the other battery (as I had gotten the two-pack in the 3-tool deal) and was good to go for another several days. I haven't really found a need for the level, as using a small beam level is more convenient (who can balance a drill on a surface you're hanging?), but the light is actually very useful -- and both of those features are an incredible bonus in this price-range for a power drill. A hammer drill, no less. It also stands up well on its own, which is surprising as most drills that have a tilted chuck tend to tip over. Being able to turn the battery out of the way is another neat feature -- one that has come in handy a few times. My battery stays still once I turn it (as it has kind of a tension thing at preset stops), so it doesn't turn on its own unless I bump it against something. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I honestly can't think of anything this can't do that a Dewalt or other big-name-brand could.

You get what you pay for,

This drill is $10. It drills holes. In no way does it perform like an 18v cordless drill (nor perform like it looks). I used it to drill a 3" hole in a sheet of 20ga steel and it drained the just charged battery, started to burn my hand and was smoking fairly good. That said- it's still working and I've used it several times since on the same project. I'd give it 3 stars but in comparison to my 14.4v craftsmen that I paid $35 for (got a $10 discount for signing up for a cc) and got 2 batteries, charger and drill, it's not as good a value at $30 for charger, drill and battery.

unit does what it says it will do plus it has a light on the base that shines up to illuminate what your drilling. Unit also has a bubble level on the back. I signed up for the credit card and got the $30.00 free money as well.
You need to add the battery and the charger |
