This review is from: Bare-Tool Denali 565117 18-Volt Cordless Impact Driver (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have used a lot of impact drivers. I own a 18 volt Milwaukee, Makita, DeWalt and several craftsman 19.2 & 14.4 volt. They are all good. The first time I used the Denali I was trying to remove a couple of screws. I forgot to shift it into reverse and it destroyed the Bosch screwdriver bit, the end just exploded. I didn't realize what had happened so I just put another bit in it and it sheared the end off in about 1/2 second. This thing has some power! It drives screws great and it costs very little. It has a L.E.D. light on the base that can be turned on and off with a seperate switch. This is a nice feature. The battery also has some cool features but that is another review. I don't know how long it will last, I have only had it for a couple of days but it works great! I will amend this review if it develops any problems.

I was so impressed with this tool after using it I ordered 2 more to have as a spares.

Last week I used this impact driver to install drywall in a couple of 8' long closets. The built in light is very nice and since it shines up at an angle it gives you a good view of the screw making it easy to see how far it is being countersunk into the drywall. Also the rotating battery mount has come in handy in a couple of tight spots allowing access that would not have been possible with a conventional battery mounting system. I have used it to drive several hundred screws and all is well so far!

I purchased this tool in October and finally used it recently. I was attaching a halfwall stud to a beam in the basement. The driver drove 2 inch wood screws very efficiently. I was working in confined spaces, near ductwork, and the reversible battery came in handy. For the low price I wasn't sure how it would come through, but it did very well. I recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with this tool, April 7, 2008

I've purchased this tool in January 2008 and used it side-by-side with a similar Ryobi impact cordless driver (borrowed from my contractor working in my house) that retails $20 to $30 more, plus battery. My impression is that it has even more power than the Ryobi but it is definitively heavier with its bulky battery. Fortunately the battery in the Denali can be rotated and this is a very convenient feature, albeit you can't get the white LED to shine on your screw if you turn the battery around. I'm not a contractor, so I don't use this every day but it seems like it's a good value for the money for personal usage.

I also bought one of these, used it and bought another one for a backup. all these denali tools have been great, and even greater when you look at the price point. if they last it will be the best deal in a long time on tools. they are obviously built for the do it yourselfer or handy man, so if you treat them that way you will be very impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Performer, Great Value, June 30, 2011
This review is from: Bare-Tool Denali 565117 18-Volt Cordless Impact Driver (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've been using the impact driver for two years now. It continues to amaze me given the price and performance. I use it for wood construction and automotive, as it's great for running small long bolts in and out. I just finished using it to build a 250sqft deck without a hitch. This is by far the stand out tool in the lot of jinding 18v tools. I highly recommend getting the smart charger 56500 to get the most out of the nicad batteries. Mine are still holding a good charge after two years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tool for the price and it has worked excellently, no problems, October 14, 2010

I bought just about every Danali tool that amazon has. The reason I ended up finding out about this line was because I had a Craftman combination with a 1/2" drill and a 6 1/2" circular saw. The two batteries that came with the set died at the exact same time. I went searching for reasonably priced replacement batteries and the best I could find was $70 for one battery. I found the Danali Tool line and at the time they were getting $10 a battery (or 2 for $30, that's one of the things I hate about Amazon's pricing) for the Danali tools. The tools were also very reasonaly priced. Amazon use to have a good policy as far as price drops and items going on sale. Very similar to what everyone else had and has. They were having a deal where if you bought 3 tools, a charger, a 2 pack of batteries (2 for $30) and a carrying bag they would give you an additional $30 off. I purchased three of these sets (differnt tools). I latter called them and conviced them that it didn't make any sense to charge $10 for 1 battery and $30 for 2 and I was able to convince them they were wrong. They refunded me $30. I watched their price over the next 30 days and they had a dozen price drops and they gave me a refund for each one. I actually got a bag, 2 batteries, charger, a 1/2" hammer drill, 6 1/4" circular saw, and the impact driver I'm reviewing for less than it would have cost me for 1 Craftman battery. Amazon was excellent. Now they pretty much refuse to make any price adjustments even if its just a few days. A nice feature about most of their tools is the LED light on them which I notice most of the name brand companies are picking up. Amazon will probably censor the heck out of this. Anyway for the price the danali tools are great.

I have been using this Impact for approx 10 mo. on a daily basis for my business and have no complaints. This has probably been the most durable power tool that I have ever owned. This driver can take quite the beating. It has been dropped plenty of times, thrown at numerous employees and still works just as good as the first time I used it. The batteries hold a very decent charge and recharge fairly quick. This tool is an absolute steal for the price. I will purchase another set before the price goes up.

4.0 out of 5 stars amazing value, November 3, 2008
This review is from: Bare-Tool Denali 565117 18-Volt Cordless Impact Driver (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
I was a little skeptical about what this tool would look like for 26 bucks and change! But I must say after using it on a job, that it performs as well as the expensive ones! We'll have to wait and see about the longevity, but at that price you could buy 3 or 4 replacements! The only changes I would make is on the battery and swivel. I wish it could have a lock on it so when you put it in your tool belt that it would stay facing forward, and it is also kind of hard to get the battery to release from the tool unless you have a very large hand! otherwise it's a great tool for the money.
