Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Slide one of these batteries onto the supremely designed impact driver and you’ll be amazed at what you can do. Despite its size (for the record, it’s 5-3/4 inches long and weighs barely 3 pounds), this driver kicks out an unbelievable 1,280 in./lbs. of efficient torque, a no-load speed of 2,300 rpm and 3,200 blows per minute, putting it way out in front of the pack. We really like the integrated worklight, too. It illuminates as soon as you pull the trigger, and it stays on for 10 seconds or so after you release the trigger, too – a handy little feature.

Great addition. I purchased a multi tool kit and got this as an add on. Totally worth every cent. Very light, short profile allows it to go places even other impact drivers can not. Love the 15 second delay on Makita tools, have used it as a flashlight many times already. Good power, have broken screws with it already. If you have the 18v 3.0ah set, but not this. Get it, you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Master Makita, August 11, 2008
I bought the whole combo (impact driver, drill, saw, light and sawzall ) when the new lithium ion line was introduced. All the tools are well-made and perform smoothly.

The impact driver is a stand-out! Light, well-balanced, and very powerful. It never cams out. I drive 3" deck screws, and they go in smoothly in pressure treated lumber. Contractors who borrow it say it's the best they've ever used. It goes a long time between charges. I had the 12 volt Makita impact driver, a great tool, and this is even better. Clearly best in class!

5.0 out of 5 stars I used this tool to.., May 15, 2008
This review is from: Bare-Tool Makita BTD140Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Impact Driver (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
tighten lag bolts connecting two pieces of engineered LVL beams 1.5". These beams weighed over 170lbs apiece and are really solid. However, this outrageous tool drove the bolt AND washer INTO the wood and countersunk them. It was so strong I think that it could have pushed the bolt THROUGH the wood/washer. This was a big washer too probably 1". Then I did the same thing with carriage bolts w/ one washer, so it was no fluke. Yet still, SOMEHOW it was a breeze to use and not hard on your wrist at all, as is a spade bit and a strong drill if you're not ready. I also used it a bit for automotive, but I want the other impact 1/2" drive and to keep it separate. I like the light, and the clip.
