This should be the "basic" M12 screw driving tool,

I think this is going to be my favorite screw driving tool ever.
Why? It is light weight. At slow speeds, it is gentle enough for small screws. There is enough torque for anything suitable to be driven by 1/4 inch hex bits. It seems to be following in the Milwaukee M12 tradition of being well built. I honestly can't find any negatives about the Milwaukee M12 Impact Driver. Thank's to the promotion Milwaukee was running, mine was free! After using it, I'd happily have paid full price.

This is a great little impact. I have used it to put together some tool carts and other stuff that I would usually use a ratchet for and got the job done alot faster. I have an 18v impact for larger bolts, but this little thing fits your hand and really gets stuff tight.

This tool is used daily by many different operators. It has never failed. Plenty of power, short charge time, and light weight makes it the perfect tool. The best thing is that it is the tool only. I do not need extra charges filling up my job box.

This item does not disappoint. It has plenty of torque so be careful not to twist the heads off of the screws. The only negative I have is that the reversing switch can get in the way.

Great tool, but when we got it in the mail it appeared to have been used before. None the less its a quality tool used on a daily basis. Would buy again, but shouldn't need to for a few years!

This Milwaukee impact is an amazing tool. The thing you have to remember is you have to use it for what it was made for. IT IS NOT MADE FOR DRIVING 3 INCH SCREWS INTO WOOD!!!!!. I see that many other reviews are unsatisfied because they can't drive 3 inch deck screws. that operation is not what this drill is made for. It is made for light duty jobs. I use this drill to screw cabinet sides together as well as fastening 1/4 in plywood siding to set pieces at the high school I volunteer building musical and play sets for. It works great. I have never had an issue. The battery level meter is also a huge plus. The tool is built like a rock. Very solid and very durable. It just feels like a quality tool. The battery life is average, about the same as I would expect from any other lithium tool.
Bottom line -Great tool -a little spendy but it is a very quality tool -good battery life -when used for its intended purposes it does exactly what it is claimed to do

I have received 2 of these are both were bad from stock. When you pull the trigger in a normal manor the tool will not start to turn. You have to play with the trigger and there are spots that will cause the tool to turn. Both had the same problem.
I have several of the other tools in the M12 line (Drill & Screwdriver & LED Light). I have been very pleased with them. I also have Makita 18v LXT tools that are also very good. I wanted a small impact and the Milwaukee battery system I have would have worked with this tool. I have just placed an order for the Makita 10v impact. I order often from Amazon. I have never had to return a product. I was surprised how easy Amazon makes it to return bad merchandise. Bad for Milwaukee but a pleasure doing business with Amazon. Since initially writing this review I realized the M12 drill I had seemed very under powered. I took it in for service. They found all of my M12 batteries were bad and the tool was fine. I think it is likely that my batteries were the problem with these impact tools. The impact and drill seem to draw more starting current then the screwdriver. They guy that replaced my batteries said there are a lot of these batteries that have gone bad. He replaced them under warrenty. I had called Milwaukee when I originally received the new tool and they said if there was a problem to just return it. They should have been aware that bad batteries show up looking like a trigger problem. I noticed several reports of trigger problems in the reviews of this tool system. They are probably all bad batteries. One of the features of this line is the battery charge indicator on the side of the tool. Makita does not have this. This is probably the worst idea Milwaukee ever had. The charge indicator shows these bad batteries as fully charged and is generally not very accurate. Although I never got to see how these impacts really worked, based on my experience with the rest of the line they are probably OK as long as the new batteries are better then the old ones. The repair place seemed to think they have been redesigned. In conclusion I have been using the Makita 10 volt tools I ordered to replace these and I have been very plaesed with them. When everything is working both Milwaukee and Makita tools seem to be about the same.

The SICKEST little tool ever!!!!!!!!!!,

I actually have the 3/8th's impact so I can go directly to sockets, changed out my whole suspension today, 4 struts in a Mazda P5. This tool can get into places that I would have never imagined and the power is incredible. I also have the 28v impact and to be honest it sucks. The batterys run out to fast in the 28v, but today I used this for 4 hours and it went down 1 stinking bar! Just 1!!! I keep the tool in my car or some times It kicks it next to me while I type away on the computer. We are inseparable, some nights I even let her sleep next to me, hahahaha.
