I'm a professional contractor and I bought this drill along with the m18 4 tool cordless a little less than a year ago. I have no real complaints about the other tools in the set, they work well in a pinch when power isnt readily available. I used the drill everyday as my workhorse tool, so when I was looking at the set I considered just buying a 400$ hilti drill instead but was swayed by Milwaukee's reputation in the professional trades and their 5 year warranty. I loved the drill until it started to die suddenly, albeit rare enough that I lived with it. Then 7 months into it's life it just stopped working. I said no problem I use a crappy backup drill and send it in to get repaired under warranty. A week and half later I get an letter, including a max repair estimate for 124$, in the fine print I see the notations that tool was denied warranty because of foreign debris/material inside tool and that it had worn motor brushes and a slipping clutch. So apparently using the tool for its intended functions will completely destroy this tool in less than a year under real jobsite conditions and Milwaukee's idea of a tool warranty is laughable at best. The bare tool retails for 40$ less than there repair price as well. The kicker is that if I decide to not have it repaired by them they will not even reassmle the tool before shipping it back to me. Not exactly our grandfathers Milwaukee tool co. anymore huh? I still have milwaukee tools from 30 years ago in service and working fine. My coworker uses a Hilti, which he dropped off a ladder 3 stories by accident and damaged the grip and trigger mechanism. He was able to walk into the nearest hilti store and they repaired it for free 4 years after purchase, even in a very dirty and used condition. When the repaired tool began to malfunction again a few days later they handed him a brand new model equivalent to it at no charge. You tell me the moral of the story... Don't trust Milwaukee Tools Word as they don't stand by their products and their customers

If you are interested in buying this be sure you have the correct batteries first. Do not buy it to replace the prior model drill because it will not work on the prior Lithium 18V batteries. The batteries for this will cost over $100 each if purchased separate plus $35 for the new charger. This is great for an additional drill in your current set of the same tools.

I just ordered this contractor grade drill yesterday and have received it already in less then 24 hours later and didn't pay for extra shipping. Bravo Hardwaresales(dot)com, you earned another customer. I'm a professional Electrical Contractor an I'm very happy with this drill. I unfortunately misplaced my other one (probably up in somebody's attic) and needed to replace it. I've owned it since it's release and have put it through heavy electrical contractor use on a daily basis. I previously was never a fan of Milwaukee and had always used Dewalt. I now wouldn't trade this drill for two Dewalts. It has no problem handling a 7/8 auger bit, 2" self feed bits, 4" hole saws and Masonry bits. The LED light is excellent, battery life is great not to mention the battery life indicator light, weight and handling is good.I'm known by my friends as a "tool snob" and feel this is the best performance drill and best looking drill on the Market. I own pretty much every other drill of professional grade on the market as well and this drill hands down is the best. This Milwaukee lithium line up has definitely made me a believer and has converted me to a Milwaukee fan. The line was definitely worth converting from the dewalt classic 18 volt lineup, which if you're in the trade, you know how difficult and expensive this is to do. It was definitely worth it. The bare tool option is also great at a excellent price.

Within 4 months my drill broke, the gearing mechanism jammed for no reason, I thought warranty would cover it but they said do to normal wear and tear it will cost about $170.00I did not know it was made in china, it is garbage, if your a contractor like me I just replaced it with a German made Metabo, cost alot more but they last forever! I have six metabo grinders, not one has broke.

I don't consider myself all that weak, but this drill can get quite heavy after a while. Also, the hammer drill setting isn't all that powerful as it's regular drill setting. The chuck works well, and the trigger sensitivity is great. The built in work light is a good idea, except it's UNDER the drill head, which in actual creates a shadow to where you are drilling. But it's good Milwaukee quality, and I'd keep this around for a long time.

This hammer drill must have been designed by Thor himself. I bought this drill in a set with two XC batteries, a charger and an impact driver.First things first: The battery is a stingy bastard. It uses up energy like it was it's last charge. I go about two weeks at a time without needing to recharge the battery and that is with everyday use. I would guess it would be much longer than that if you didn't use the hammer option as often as I do. The drill: A monster! Once, I had to drill through an unknown thickness of concrete. I put a 12" masonry drill bit all the way into the concrete in about 5 seconds (concrete was thicker than 12"). It didn't stall or slow down the whole time. Mind you, it did put a strain on the battery and took it down about 1/2 a bar just for that one hole but it did it's job. Also, this thing is sturdy. I cannot count how many times I have dropped the drill from atop of my 6' ladder, out of an attic opening, and even off of a rooftop, and it still keeps trucking. I have had this drill for over a year and a half now and it, along with the batteries, still work like the day I bought them. That is saying a lot since I put these babies to the test on a daily basis. If you do decide to purchase the M18 Hammer Drill from Milwaukee, you will definitely be one happy customer for a very long time.

The Milwaukee M18 cordless hammer drill is a power and quick alternative to a larger SDS hammer drill for drilling small anchors into concrete surfaces. I run coax cable lines along homes for a living and this drill lets me fasten coax neatly across foundations with its powerful hammer drill setting. Makes for a professional finish. And you get a great driver on top of it all. Three drill settings over all. You can't go wrong. Great product.*******After using this drill for nearly 6 months the chuck crapped out. I was boring a hole thru a top plate with a long 5/8 auger bit. And when I tried to insert a #2 phillips screw tip the chuck wouldn't tightened all the way up to properly hold it. PS Milwaukee customer service is the worse!*******
