I purchaced an M18 Drill and Impact driver set. Since I had the batteries I thought I would get the saw. Found out when I got the saw it took the High Capacity M-18 batteries, the regular M-18 did not fit. Had to purchase another battery. I did some research and after much time on the Milwaukee web site I found where they mentioned the need for the HC batteries. I wish the Amazon site would mention the need for the HC battery.

Other than that the saw is great, cuts 2 inch material with ease, Charge is enough to work all day (on my projects anyway). The eletronic brake takes some getting used to. But the unit is well worth the money. Now I am looking for the M18 sazall with out the batteries to complete my tool box.

I have been volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and built several houses in the last two years. I purchased this saw as a bare tool and have been very impressed with the performance. Several cordless circular saws show up at the build each weekend and get tough use to fill in when the corded tools are busy or just inconvenient. This Milwaukee 18V model performs better than any of the others around. It is a strong cutting saw and has an excellent battery life. The power to weight ratio is very impressive. I also really like the safety features on this saw. These tools get handed around quite a bit due to their convenience and weight. It takes two actions to run the saw and it has a effective blade brake. I'm sure that these features have prevented many accidents!

My one disappointment with this bare tool is that it does not come with the rip fence that ships with the "kit" models. When you buy a bare tool it's easy to assume you don't need the battery and charger but no rip fence? Bad choice by the marketing department to save a few bucks... I consider the rip fence a handy part of the tool, especially since we often work with volunteers with limited proficiency with power tools. I'd give it five stars if it came with the rip fence.

I had used a B&D 5.25 inch "Firestorm" 18v circular saw for several years. It was not much good at anything - bogged-down easily and devoured the old NiCd batteries in a few minutes. I bought this Milwaukee 6.5 inch as part of my update of my tools to Li ion technology, for which I had chosen the M-18 battery series. My first use of this saw was for Trex decking, for our new porch/deck. The saw cut smoothly, effortlessly, and kept going all day! Never bogged-down or appeared to be stressed at all. Powerful! What a contrast!!! I love the really solid rip fence. The saw is easy to use, and appears to be really well made. And did I mention - powerful!

Milwaukee M18 tools rock. The more different ones you have (and with multiple XC batteries) the better.

Great product. Of course you need to have XC (not compact) batteries for the bare tool; that should be obvious. However lack of a rip fence is false advertising because the Amazon page lists it as Model AB and the Manufacturer's info says AB includes saw plus fence.

My brother-in-law got the kit of this saw, hammer drill, sawzall and light with two XC batteries, IMO the most useful tools. And the rip fence was included.

This saw is quiet compared to a worm drive Skil 77 but still rips 2x4 lumber, no problem. Relatively light and very convenient. Chop saws are ubiquitous on job sites now and have taken over much of the work that used to be done with worm drives. With the convenience of this M18 Milwaukee - and chop saws everywhere - the worm drive saw now sees much less use.

This little puppy is nearly too much fun! As a contractor, I've owned Milwaukee tools for decades, and each one has lasted. And lasted. But they've typically been heavy and, like any corded tool, sometimes a challenge to power up. Not this little guy. All I need is one of the M18 batteries I've got from my other new cordless tools. Yes, the blade is small, but it's big enough for 2x stock, and there's plenty of power, and if I've got to cut something larger, I've got plenty of other options. Only time will tell how this will hold up, but for the moment, it's my go-to circular saw. Well balanced and light. For under $150, it's a no-brainer. Love it!

I have been buying Milwaukee for many years. I have yet to be disappointed. This saw is nice and light weight and seems to have sufficient power. I bought this one because it uses a common battery (M18 XC) with some of my other tools. The brake takes some getting used to. It stops the second you release the trigger.

This saw worked great for my construction project. I built a 10' X 12' shed. I was able to use the saw to cut 10 2X10's and all the 3/4 inch flooring on a single charge. It is truly nice to not the cord hanging in your way.

Where did they get this thing? Even on the little m18 battery this saw just goes and goes. It's not quite as powerful as a 110v, but it's darn close, and it's cordless and light (comparatively). This is my new go-to saw. Don't waste your time with any of the others - this is the one to get.
