4.0 out of 5 stars Great with a caveat, January 19, 2011
This review is from: Bare-Tool Milwaukee 2662-20 18-Volt M18 1/2-Inch High Torque Impact Wrench with Pin Detent (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have a few of the M18 line of tools and they are all fantastic; professional build quality, power and design.
The M18 impact has all the torque you should need short of locomotive or perhaps shipbuilding work. My only caveat is that the retaining pin is, in my opinion, poorly designed.
The pin is truly a pin, not a spring-loaded ball, this is good. The ball detent designs rarely hold a socket securely. The problem lies with the design of the pin, it is squared off at the top instead of chamfered. The squared off pin prevents a socket from going on, I had to press the pin down to attach a socket. The socket is now locked on, this is also good except that now you have to somehow press the pin to remove the socket.

Mine may have had a improperly manufactured pin, I can't say for sure.

I exchanged the 2662 for the 2663 and have been nothing but ecstatic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Milwaukee 2662-20 M18 Impact Wrench With Pin Detent, April 8, 2010
This review is from: Bare-Tool Milwaukee 2662-20 18-Volt M18 1/2-Inch High Torque Impact Wrench with Pin Detent (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
A remarkable handy tool for both the homeowner and professional. This tool has all the power of a corded tool without the need for cords or hoses.
Milwaukee M18 Series tools have revolutionized the way I think and work in the field as a professional residential remodeler.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE LAG BUSTER, September 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bare-Tool Milwaukee 2662-20 18-Volt M18 1/2-Inch High Torque Impact Wrench with Pin Detent (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
this impact is stronger then the corded dewalt. weighs just a little more but damn it that tool has really power. even vs it with hilti corded impact, while my battery had just 1 bar driving in 1/2
lag screw was about the same. the only downside is the vibrating, while the hilti was very smooth. its worth every penny!

5.0 out of 5 stars This thing is a BEAST!!!, April 20, 2010
This review is from: Bare-Tool Milwaukee 2662-20 18-Volt M18 1/2-Inch High Torque Impact Wrench with Pin Detent (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
My past experience with Milwaukee 2650 impact driver was just amazing what little cordless 18V can do. I didn't hestitate when making a purchased, once arrived I pop in a fresh M18 XC battery and rev it in forward & reverse to see how strong it was and sound pretty weak as it doesn't deliver that nice sound like air impact does so I was disappointed. I decided to give it an execise right away by removing lugs nut on my SUV it only took 3 seconds or less for or each bolt WOW!....I was thinking may be it wasn't torque enough so I took out the sway bar retightning it than stand on top to the sway bar making sure it super tight and yes this beast did not hestitate to remove them. After removed and reinstall all 4 wheels (5 bolts each wheel) and than check the battery level it still showning all bars HOLY CRAP! just amazing tools.

As other may complaints about the lock pin really lock in to the socket hole so have a small phillip screw driver ready if you constantly changing socket. But Milwaukee design it that way just to be super safety precaution you wouldn't want a socket flying to your face.
