5.0 out of 5 stars Quieter angle grinder, April 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bare-Tool Milwaukee 2680-20 18-Volt M18 4-1/2-Inch Cut-off/Grinder (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
I ordered this tool so that I could get more use out of my m18 batteries. I was suprized at how quiet the unloaded motor was. Sometimes I like to work in my shop at night. With this tool I can manage the noise level as long as I do not grind too heavily. And the small batteries seem to carry the load for a reasonable amount of time for the size (being smaller than a 28 volt battery which I have used before).

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect time saver, April 16, 2011

I keep this in my tool box at work, being a mechanic I usually don't use it for long periods of time, so I'm done in the the time that it would have taken to get a corded tool hooked up, and I don't have to worry about the cord getting cut or hung up on something. I have a few other m18 tools and have had good luck with all of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent field tool, August 27, 2011

This review is from: Bare-Tool Milwaukee 2680-20 18-Volt M18 4-1/2-Inch Cut-off/Grinder (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
This one is as good if not better than my 110 volt as far as performance goes. Being lithi cordless makes this a superior field tool. With the metal cutting disk it will cut through steel and any pipe. The masonary disk will cut 3 inch pavers in special form to fit applications. Sharpen lawnmower blades in a second. This is a top of the line tool. I ordered it at 10 am, got to my house at noon the next day on standard shipping as shipped from Washington to Oregon. One of the best tools I own. I have workers from Mexico who shy away from power tools like this concerning tight fit cuts, but I cannot keep them away from this one. 2 years now of daily use and runs like new.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great quality. Short run. Marginal power for some jobs, December 29, 2011

This is really a 4.5 star tool for me. It's the only one of the (10) M18 tools I own that hasn't made my corded version collect dust. This thing is a well designed, quality tool that is GREAT for small jobs that don't require a long working time or a lot of disc pressure. What you won't get from this tool is good performance on things like paint stripping that require more torque and run time. To be fair, I returned a corded Ryobi tool for the same reason before I bought my corded Milwaukee grinder. Don't get me wrong; I use this tool often, and for many things it's perfect. People who use grinders often will know which jobs are (and aren't) well suited for this tool. If you're a first time grinder buyer, just consider the tasks you'll be asking this tool to perform before you buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Milwaukee 4 1/2 inch Cut-off/Grinder M18, June 26, 2011

Another great cordless power tool from Milwaukee, I have this tool and the Makita version, I like the Milwaukee one better because the trigger is on the bottom of the tool which is easier to hold while using the tool as opposed to the Makita one where the trigger is on the top. Also I like the quick connect/disconnect of the guards which the Makita one does not have. It also seems to last a lot longer running wise as opposed to the Makita one which shuts off fairly quickly do to the safety over heat feature. Milwaukee just seems to build a better tool for commercial use. If you are looking for one for homeowner purposes I guess the Makita one would be fine, but I would recommend the Milwaukee one.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good grinder, February 26, 2012

As others have stated, the amount of battery life you get depends on how hard you work it. This replaces my Dewalt corded grinder for sharpening mower blades about 2/3 of the time. It runs slower, but still does a great job. It will start to slow for about a minute or two before the battery pack kicks off. It is nice not to be bound by the cord. All in all, a very good tool. Battery life could be better.

Great power tool addition to my existing 4 piece kit. I have been none other than astonished at the power of the 18 Volt lithium ion tools from Milwaukee.
This angle grinder is fairly quiet and is just as strong, if not stronger, than the AC powered one I've been using for the past several years.

This tool gets 5 stars from me!

Good tool, especially for welding and stone finishing. All 4.5 inch stones and cutters fit well. It's convenient and lives up to Milwaukee's reputation.
