Product Description

Amazon.com Review

This Sawzall is an effective cordless version of Milwaukee's famous corded reciprocating saw. It has a 1-inch stroke with a variable-speed trigger that provides 0 to 2,000 spm. It also features Milwaukee's quick-locking, steel blade-clamp system for fast and easy tool-free blade changing. As a cordless saw, it's great for electricians, plumbers, contractors, demolition experts, or anyone else who wants the freedom to cut through wood or metal quickly without being tethered by a cord. This saw cuts quickly and relatively smoothly for a reciprocating saw, and the 2 amp hr battery offers plenty of run time for most jobs. While the cordless Sawzall does seem to have a relatively low level of vibration, we wish it had a soft-cushion grip on the rear handle. That said, this is unquestionably a tough, effective saw, capable of most any job a corded reciprocating saw can do. --Brian Trinen

From the Manufacturer

The 18-volt cordless Sawzall is an essential tool for: HVAC contractors, plumbers, electricians, maintenance workers and remodelers. The cordless Sawzall cuts up to 60, 2 x 4's on a single charge with it's powerful rare earth motor and 0-2,000 SPM. A heavy-duty steel Quik-Lok blade clamp makes changing blades quickly and easily. The blades can be inserted upside down in the clamp for working in confined areas. The trigger speed control and 1-inch stroke length makes this saw easy for plunge cutting. A full pivot shoe is used for maximum strength and to support the tool against the work surface. Includes saw only (battery and charger are separate).

5.0 out of 5 stars The first tool out of the truck, January 8, 2001

I'm a concrete and masonry contractor and my guys use this tool for everything from cutting forms to cutting roots in their way. Exceptional performance, we usually use up two batteries in a day, but the fast charge can usually keep up. Almost indistructable, have seen it droped from over 8 ft. from scaffolding and just bounce. The keyless chuck is fantastic. I have had too many tools with keys or allen wrenches sit in the truck unused for the want of a key. Have had the tool for over two years and am still using the original batteries but, this morning the battery charger gave up the ghost. I guess thats what you get for leaving it out in the rain a half of douzen times, more or less. I do not buy cheap tools, I feel that my employees deserve the best to make them the best. If I only had enough money to buy one tool this would be it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank You Milwaukee, March 8, 2001

Just want to say that it's great Milwaukee offers the "tool only" so we don't have to keep purchasing batteries and chargers. I've purchased 2 milwaukee cordless tools with 2 batteries and a charger each, and then was able to purchase this saw and a work light without those items. So now I have a bettery for each tool and a backup charger, and they all fit in one case....beautiful!!!

P.S....I've had the 18 volt drill, circle saw, sawzall and light for well over a year now and use them heavily , no problems, excellent tools.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deserves 10 Stars, September 6, 2001

Unlike DeWalt, Milwaukee used the same design of their electric saw to build a cordless. The early model had less than spectacular quick-change clamp but that was remedied quite nicely.
