5.0 out of 5 stars The first tool out of the truck
I'm a concrete and masonry contractor and my guys use this tool for everything from cutting forms to cutting roots in their way. Exceptional performance, we usually use up two batteries in a day, but the fast charge can usually keep up. Almost indistructable, have seen it droped from over 8 ft. from scaffolding and just bounce. The keyless chuck is fantastic. I have...

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled
Don't be fooled. This product is not the Milwaukee you expect. You can imagine my frustration when I purchased this high quality tool only to discover "Made in China." on the label. If I wanted Chinese quality I would have gone to Harbor Freight or purchased a Crafstman. For the price I paid, I expected a quality Milwaukee product made in North America.

I have had too many tools with keys or allen wrenches sit in the truck unused for the want of a key. Have had the tool for over two years and am still using the original batteries but, this morning the battery charger gave up the ghost. I guess thats what you get for leaving it out in the rain a half of douzen times, more or less. I do not buy cheap tools, I feel that my employees deserve the best to make them the best. If I only had enough money to buy one tool this would be it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank You Milwaukee, March 8, 2001

Just want to say that it's great Milwaukee offers the "tool only" so we don't have to keep purchasing batteries and chargers. I've purchased 2 milwaukee cordless tools with 2 batteries and a charger each, and then was able to purchase this saw and a work light without those items. So now I have a bettery for each tool and a backup charger, and they all fit in one case....beautiful!!!

P.S....I've had the 18 volt drill, circle saw, sawzall and light for well over a year now and use them heavily , no problems, excellent tools.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deserves 10 Stars, September 6, 2001
This review is from: Bare-Tool Milwaukee 6515-20 Sawzall 18-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Reciprocating Saw (Tool Only, No Battery) (Tools & Home Improvement)
Unlike DeWalt, Milwaukee used the same design of their electric saw to build a cordless. The early model had less than spectacular quick-change clamp but that was remedied quite nicely.

As an electrician I've used many brands of reciprocating saws and can say in all honesty that the Milwaukee Sawzall beats them all, HANDS DOWN! This thing is one of the first tools I grab to head out to a job. You can cut a lot of conduit on a charge.

This is a great price for the "tool only" deal. I already had plenty of Milwaukee 18 volt batteries/chargers so this made it really affordable. Thanks Amazon!

All the power of a corded sawzall just no cord. Burns through the batteries pretty quick when your doing serious stuff but I'm still happy with it. I've had this for three years and it's still going strong.

I've owned a few sawsalls, and this is by far the best of them. I'm not to brand picky, but a few years ago, my father loaned me his new DeWalt and it worked great. I did however buy the Milwaukee and it was rated 1 amp less. Whoops! But to my suprise, my saw provided both smoother handling and faster cuts! It was like going from a old hot rod to a new hot rod. Both got the job done, but the Milwaukee got me there faster, and with a lot more comfort. That is close to the same feeling I had when first using my V18 cordless tool vs. others. Just a better ride.

I have been using this saw recently for cutting vine roots about 6" in diameter and cutting door openings in drywall partitions. It is about as heavy as a regular cordrd sawzall but also seems just as strong. It has more guts than the DeWalt 18v and doesn't seem to drain the battery as quick as the Dewalt does. I have been quite pleased.

1.0 out of 5 stars buyer beware, November 24, 2009
Came with a kit. Whenever it bogs down/jams on the material slightly, the battery drains instantly. Almost useless. Very disappointing. I once was a Milwaukee fan, not any more. The V18 hammer drill that came with the kit caught on fire after one year as well. Haven't tried to get it fixed yet..........Wanted to warn others, so they would not make the same very expensive mistake of a purchase!
