LOL I'm happy to see some of Ben's work sold on this site.
By the way give "Bound For Glory" a listen. It's very special to me. It was written and dedicated to my dad Taylor J Brejot. At the time he was very sick with stage 4 Lung Cancer. When he passed Ben put together a tape and had it playing at the funeral.

Oh yeah I've even seen them perform live at the Riverport Amptheater in St. Louis. Ben got the whole family and friends backstage passes. We got to meet the whole band and got autographs too!

Give "Drinkin' Again" a listen too. It really shows Jon's vocals off.

I abolutley love this album...it's certainly Jon Butcher at his best. "Better Off Dead" is a classic hard rock-n-roll song, which leads into Blackbird which is a classic hard rockin' blues song (in the vein of some of Led Zep's blues songs). The album rocks with the best of 'em. Too bad the Servants didn't stick around, because there certainly ain't many bands that can rock like this.

I love this recording! Hard rockin` at it`s very dirty best. This a great combination of musicians, songs, writing, and playing. The music is heavily blues influenced hard rock with a fantastic rhythm section backing some great guitarists. There`s enough tempo changes to send the mood up and down and lots of tasty guitar licks. I wish more people knew of these guys. 5 stars!

This is a great album! Excellent guitar work of course. It Hurts Me Too is the best version of that song I have heard. Bound for Glory was great. The sound split between treble and bass was especially well defined on several numbers

I came across a CD of this group's work, quite by accident almost 10 years ago... and fell in love with the gritty bluesy sound of the 'Barefoot Servants' immediately. From Jon Butcher's gravely vocals that clearly reflect the fire in his soul, to the electric artistry of Ben Schultz' guitar accompanyment, this debut CD works out to be a clear treat for any blues enthusiast. From the sardonic humor of 'Foolish Behavior', to the barroom brallish excitement of 'Muscle Car', you'll agree that this album is an excellent addition to your personal collection.
