5.0 out of 5 stars THE versatile, summerweight bra!
I'm a woman who HATES to wear bras. Unfortunately, I also like to wear next to nothing in summer. Temperatures where I live can be over 100 degrees. And some t-shirts just can't be worn without bras outside the house. Enter the Barely there model #103. I've tried countless cotton bras, sports bras, etc., and they are all very heavy material and elastic, suffocating me...

1.0 out of 5 stars If you're larger than a B-cup you're not going to want this
To start, beware the colors in the photos. I ordered "Rosewood" but what I received looks less like a pink and more like a taupe. I was tempted to return it but one of the tags fell off while I was removing it from the plastic packaging. Intending to make lemonade from lemons, I tried it on. Barely there? They got that part right. I was looking for something that is comfy...

(REAL NAME)
I'm a woman who HATES to wear bras. Unfortunately, I also like to wear next to nothing in summer. Temperatures where I live can be over 100 degrees. And some t-shirts just can't be worn without bras outside the house. Enter the Barely there model #103. I've tried countless cotton bras, sports bras, etc., and they are all very heavy material and elastic, suffocating me. But this is just one very, very light layer of fabric (on the minus side, not the bra to wear if you have prominent, always-erect nipples) and although it's synthetic, it breathes like cotton and is really the next best thing to going bare.

Notes:

1. My observations are on the white colour. I've just ordered the bra in black. I know from experience that black dye can sometimes cause fabric to be less stretchy and stiffer, so will keep you posted.

2. I'm a plus size woman who takes a 24W, and the Large is a little small on me, while the X-large is perfect. However, this is not to say that it runs large, just that it stretches really really well.

3. Eveningwear solution: I once wore this bra under a modest evening dress and stuffed a strapless padded-cup bra inside it without hooking it closed at the back. Wow. Comfort and style. Looked great and felt as comfy as pajamas all night long.

4. Strapless bra solution: Invert the bra so the bottom band is above your breasts and tuck the straps underneath. Voila - instant strapless look.

5. All that said - if you have big, bouncy breasts and plan to spend the evening at a disco, do yourself a favour and get something with a bit more support. Although I have worn it to dances, it's not the best for a 250-pound woman with 38DDs jumping up and down. Great for everyday wear, though, I wear it under all my clothes.

6. You don't need me to tell you this, but fo course this bra does nothing for your silhouette. It just prevents your bits from rotating and bouncing. If you want a built-up or pointy look, you want another bra, or else see solution #3 above.

1.0 out of 5 stars If you're larger than a B-cup you're not going to want this, April 9, 2010

I was looking for something that is comfy enough to sleep in, yet offers a little support. Yes to the first part, and a giant NO to the second. The top has the seems and gathers that give the appearance of support, but the material is so stretchy (like cheap pantyhose) it's like wearing nothing. For us big-breasted ladies, that's not a good thing.

I should have checked the negative reviews more closely - many C+ cup-size shoppers have already given this top the thumbs down. I echo the sentiment. If you've got small, perky breasts or custom ordered ones, you'll find this top very comfortable. If you're naturally of the Jessica Rabbit persuasion, avoid this top like the plague.

4.0 out of 5 stars comfortable but doesn't provide enough support, July 30, 2008
this is the most comfortable bra i have ever worn but it lacks support. it's on the flimsy side, too. good for wearing inside the house but definitely not for work or the gym.

4.0 out of 5 stars Barelythere means comfort, but ....., August 30, 2007

With a doubt the most comfortable bra I've ever owned. Does not provide a great deal of support and comes in sizes Small to X-Large. I hadn't ordered any in the past few years, and I noticed in this order, the bras had become smaller -- approx. 2 inches smaller around the torso. So, if you want a "large" better buy "X-large". Two years from now, I won't be able to fit into an x-large, and they will have lost a customer.

4.0 out of 5 stars what is a bra for?, May 12, 2009

I bought 2 of these bras in different sizes since other commenters mentioned that it ran a little small. Both are very comfortable. But, as other reviewers say, it doesn't support and doesn't disguise your nipples. So why wear a bra at all? This one would seem to provide mostly psychological benefits. I'm wearing it, but I am still looking for a bra that is this comfortable but that has a little padding in the cups. I hoped this would be it, but it doesn't disguise a thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars barely there nails it!, July 9, 2007
These bras are wonderful!! The name says it all. It's so comfortable you breeze through the day feeling totally free and non-constricted. They're so light and the gathering in the middle gives the appearance of having on a regular bra instead of a sports bra. These bras are great for the woman who lifts weights and has a larger torso than the average sized woman. Very very comfortable indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy, January 11, 2007
The product arrived in great time and nicely packaged within the box. It is very comfortable and wears well under all my blouses/sweaters. I will definitely consider buy other products from this company and this type of material.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breast cancer survivor comfort, January 16, 2011
I am a fifteen year survivor of breast cancer. I've had several reconstructive surgeries over the past years. I discovered the Barely There Crop TopBarelythere Women's Microfiber Crop Top #103 early on and it is the only bra I can wear with guaranteed comfort. It does not cause any problems with pressure or irritation on my surgical scars.

I buy some new ones whenever I find them on sale. (I hope they never stop making them) They are very durable but after repeated laundering (I'm talking more than a year's time - I've had some for several years) they do shrink a little bit and lose some of the softness and flexibility. But I have found that if I hang them over a plastic hanger they dry over night and this may extend their life somewhat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for pregnancy, etc., December 11, 2008
By
I searched online everywhere for pregnancy sleep bras -- this is not advertised as that but it should be. They are really comfortable and give just enough support to keep everything from aching. I had a lot of trouble finding the right search tag for something like this so I hope others who need maternity gear can find it easier. Also inexpensive! I got six.
