As much as I like good books on being thrifty, this one was not a "good find" for me . How many of us can run over to the CBS wardrobe department and buy the perfect dress for our sons wedding? Or what about turning your underwear inside out and wearing it another day. I am not kidding, that is in the book! Or maybe we could all sell our Picasso vases to a friend for $3,000, with the understanding that we can buy it back at anytime for the same amount whenever we need a quick loan.
I am also questioning the reasoning behind all of her purchases. On page 25 of her book, she states, "I buy so much stuff that I am forced to have a ginormous yard sale twice a year." Really! I thrift so I can afford to feed and cloth my family. Nothing wrong with her method, it just is not going to be much use to me.
If you feel you must read this book, save yourself some money and borrow it from your local library. Spend the money you saved on a real bargain for yourself!

Some years ago I saw Ms Korzen's one woman show so I knew I was in for a treat when I picked up Bargain Junkie. The book didn't disappoint. There were chuckles on every page and even a guffaw now and then and best of all it is timely as well as funny. Who doesn't want to live well yet spend little especially in these tough times? With a little imagination and a little more "chutzpah" Ms Kozen shows us that we can find the fun side of frugality.

What a great stocking stuffer for your favorite bargainistas.

If you're smart enough to know that sex is a passing sensation but getting two for the price of one is a lasting pleasure, this is a book you'll love. Within its entertaining pages you'll find all kinds of creative tips for getting valuable things for nothing or next to nothing. Who knew, for example, that there are places that sell vintage clothing for four bucks a pound! Or that you can get comped at a Las Vegas hotel even if you're not a high roller? A single caveat: if you're someone who will not question the dealer when he asks you to pay the sticker price for a new car, please see a therapist before buying this book. On the other hand, if the words "I can get it for you wholesale" bring a smile to your face and a tingling to your skin, Bargain Junkie was written for you.

Ms. Korzen is a funny lady and a smart one. Her book is not only useful but also a comic treat. And who among us does not want to look chic and fabulous without paying a lot for such a lucky break!?

As a fellow thrift store and yard sale enthusiast, I was surprised by how much I had yet to learn from Annie's very entertaining, imaginative and informative BARGAIN JUNKIE. Annie prepares for her adventures like an investigative journalist on deadline. No wonder she gets all the good stuff! BARGAIN JUNKIE is right on the money - full of good sense and good cents!

It was an okay read and I have to say that the author is quite, quite funny. The information was interesting, but I think that the first part of the book was the best part for me.

I was hoping that this book would be full of "special" finds made by the author and maybe stories from other people and their wonderful finds at flea markets, etc. The first part of the book does this very well and I loved reading this section, the rest of the book looks at various areas where you can save money - and how and while the author does describe some interesting scenarios, there was something missing for me.

I did like the book, but I think I wanted something a little different than what was there, or perhaps more stories like the first part of the book.

The info contained hereon just does not apply to me. Its dated and my individual life style and spending dont mesh with the hints in this book. I'd rather watch people on the major news stations who give all kinds of up to date hints about spending, buying, consumer reviews and rip offs.
