For those of us with older cars that don't come equiped with an iPod dock, this is the next best thing. I read reviews of iPod FM adapters that broadcast the music on the iPod to an FM station on your car radio. Every review I read for these products - which cost $70-$90 complained of poor reliability and the difficulty of finding a spot on the FM wavelength to receive the signal as on drove around the country.
This gadget has a plug that goes into the earphone jack, and a casette tape that goes in your tape deck. The iPod's music goes through your car's stereo system which is awesome if you have a good system in your car. This is inexpensive, simple to use, and pretty reliable. When using this for the first time, I had a moment of panic, because "this side up" on the tape meant putting the end with the line to the earphone jack in the tape deck; this of course did not fit. I then noticed a groove in the top of the casette. I was able to get the line into the groove and run across the top of the casette so it fit in the tape deck and came out to attach to the earphone jack. This wasn't explained in the instructions for the adapter and might frustrate someone unfamiliar with the adaptors. So now you know!

So like the other review mine too was constantly auto reversing. There were two things I did and it's not clear which is the solution but I'll share nonetheless. I thought the black wheel was not installed properly because when you place the tape "This Side Up" it would not rotate properly. I re-set the wheel (took the thing apart) and it rotated better but it still auto-reversed a ton. I saw a groove on the top of the adapter which looked like the wire could fit through it allowing me to insert it on the other side which seems to have worked much better!
Basically it's not placed "This side up" but who cares as long as it works. It's a no risk device to buy from Amazon. If it fails to work .. you lost max of $3.00 but if it works you saved a ton compared to equivalent devices. I would recommend at least trying it.. what do you have to lose?

I just bought an IPOD, and wanted to plug it on my old cassette radio on my 96 Ford Explorer. It did its job, when the radio system did not work, due to station interference.
