Does not work with Apple iPod 5th Generation. I do not recommend purchasing this item. Sure it is not expensive so not worth the cost to send it back. May be that is what they count on.

I was contacted by the seller and they were very nice about the problem I had with the charger. They expressed their desire to make my purchase right. Without even asking me if I wanted my money back they informed me that they would and that they had no intent of selling me a product that was faulty. Today I received a total refund without having to ship the item back and lose more of my time doing so. As far as the company I will give them a 5 Star and the product is still questionable but I cannot believe they would return my money and take the time to respond back to me in such a positive manner if the product was faulty every time they shipped one out to a customer. It would be too costly for them to operate that way. I cannot judge the charger since I elected not to get another one so I gave it a 3 Star and as I listed in the title 5 Star for the seller.

First, the product does not even look like the image displayed. It looks like a tiny 2-step stair with a metal plug/connector piece on the bottom right side of the first step. So even if I don't have the right iPod shuffle version, what I received was NOT the same product displayed, which appears to have a slot that you stick the iPod into. Next, I don't know if it's just my iPod shuffle, but the plug connects on the same side that the on/off buttons are on, so once I plug it in, the buttons are not visible on the top, but buried against the plastic base of the charger. Then, to get it to fully plug in, I had to jut it out a 45 degree angle on the bottom step (NOT a slot) because the iPod clip hit a small ledge on the back of that step. Finally, once it's finally plugged in - nothing. Nothing at all. Except that it was really HOT when I gave up trying to make it work and finally unplugged it. I put it right in the trash. Maybe there are other iPod shuffles that this works for, but it absolutely does not work with my Apple iPod shuffle 2 GB (4th Generation).

I like this item because it is more flexible to use than the short USB that come with the IPod Shuffle. The item I recieved is different than the initial picture shown, but when you use look at the other pictures you see what is sent. There is no back as you see the initial picture. Thought about sending back, because it was not what I thought I was getting, but the price is right for what I did get.

When looking at IPOD shuffles, this item was listed as an accessory. I purchased a 4th generation IPOD shuffle and couldn't get my computer to recognize the IPOD when sitting on this. I tried another computer with the same result.Bargaincell USB Hotsync & Charging Dock Cradle desktop Charger for Apple IPOD Shuffle 2nd Generation MP3 Player

I've bought (chinese) imports of these things in the past and sometimes they work... and other times they are useless paperweights. I love the post about one of these cheap docks killing a shuffle! Just be careful and better test it out on your friend's shuffle first ;) As others have said here, you get what you pay for!Apple Dock for iPod shuffle 2G (White)

Pattern Name: USB charging dock with wall chargerVerified Purchase
I plugged my Shuffle in and it lit up momentarily like it was going to charge. I left it there overnight but it did not apparently charge. I am sending this back. It did come in a cute tin and it was a plus that it had a wall adapter but ultimately not an original Apple charger and even though it was cute, it is useless if it doesn't charge.

I bought this product and it did not work. I asked them to ship me a new one and they said they could not. Yes, it only cost .93, but why post something for sale if it does not work? I waited for it to come in the mail and when it arrived it was defective. I was not very happy. I would not recommend buying this item.

This charger does not work with the ipod shuffle. Do not purchase...it is a waste. Seller has not responsed to my complaint. It doesn't cost much but I am still expecting to get what I paid for in working order. Shame on you Amazon for allowing sellers to rip off unsuspecting customers.

Normally I wouldn't review something like this. What can you say? It either works or it doesn't. But some people were commenting that they were having trouble posting reviews so I thought I would see if I had a problem. And try to come up with something more helpful than "It works." :-)

I received my shuffle as a gift from a client several years ago but couldn't remember exactly when. I only use it when I travel and it is a godsend on planes. I was getting organized for my first trip in months and realized that I couldn't find my charger. Since I normally leave it in my travel bag, I think I must have left it in a hotel room. So I searched Amazon for a charger and found my first problem: What generation was my shuffle? It looks like the one in the picture and the charger looked similar, but since I had no idea what other generations looked like that was no guarantee. Thank heavens for google.

A search for "iPod shuffle second generation" eventually led me to an Apple page "Identifying iPod models". It shows that the first and third generations looked significantly different but second and fourth looked the same to me. But it also shows that the fourth generation was introduced in September, 2010 and I knew that I had mine before that. So I was confident that I had a second
generation. But being paranoid I ran one more check. Since I still had the original box, I had the serial number (but could they conveniently have added "second generation"? Noooo.) So entering "iPod shuffle" and the last four digits of the serial number in google took me to a page that listed all iPod models by the last digits of their serial number. So if you aren't sure what generation you have, try one of these searches.

Since I was short on time I ordered the "Prime" option and even though it was fulfilled by Amazon, it did arrive in a padded mailer. But it didn't appear to be damaged in any way. I immediately plugged it into my laptop and it began charging right away. I didn't have any problems with syncing to iTunes. Boy, has that site changed since my last visit. (I'm going to have to figure it out since the free "prime music" from Amazon won't let me download! What's the point? )

This charger is very similar to the OEM but "feels" different- bulkier but less dense. Since it does exactly what it was supposed to do, fits my shuffle and arrived quickly, I can't find fault with it. But for now four stars. If it still works a few months from now, I'll probably come back and bump it to five.
