1.0 out of 5 stars Cable Cord for LG VX9400
This came and never worked. I tried to use it for my LG VX 9400 and my computer never recognized it when I plugged it in. I also had to fight the company for a replacement thinking that I had just been sent a bad cord but the second one never did anything either. Do not buy from them! This is a waste of money and obviously does not work with the phones listed.

You can NOT use the cable to sync data with Microsoft Outlook. I also installed BitPim (for LG Vu, set Phone Type to "LG-VX8700") and was able to access the phones file system and to disable an annoying security nag every time a 3rd party java application is run on the phone. The cable comes with a CD, but it seems to only be for the "choclate".

5.0 out of 5 stars Cable works with my LG Scoop, March 24, 2009

I purchased this cable in order to load music (and NPR shows) onto my phone and to copy pictures to my computer without having to remove the phone's memory card. With the cable plugged into the phone and into a USB port on my computer, the phone looks just like a removable drive. (Be sure to select mass storage device from the set-up menu on the phone.) No additional software was needed. The cable also allows the phone to be charged by the computer's USB port.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cable great; "software", not so much..., April 24, 2008

The cable works great. My XP laptop found the device like a champ. The "software" is actually a listing of the websites where you can find the driver, not the drivers themselves, and I actually did better by googling my particular phone and getting the driver THAT way. (The route they took me on the disk was confusing, to say the least.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Data Cable AND Charger Cable, May 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bargaincell Usb Data Cable For Lg Lg Vu Cu920, Shine Cu720, Venus Vx8800, Voyager Vx10000, Cu515, Vx5400, Rumor, Scoop, Ux260, Cg180, Ce110, Vx8350, Lx160, Flare, Ax380 Wave, Ux380, Cu575 Trax, Vx8550 Chocolate, Lx570 Muziq, Ax565, Ux565, Ax275, Vx8700, Vx9400, Vx9900 Env, Lx150, Vx8600, Ax8600, Vx8500 Chocolate Cell Phone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This cable arrived on time and in good condition. I purchased this cable for my LG VU CU920 for two reasons: 1)I wanted to make modifications to the phone which seemingly could not be done simply using the Bluetooth connection. 2)I wanted to tether the phone to my laptop for internet access through my phone with an unlimited Data Plan.

This cable allowed me to accomplish both of those goals. One concern I had according to other reviews I read, was that this cable would not charge the battery of the phone because it is strictly a "Data" cable. I can attest to this not being true. I have kept my phone tethered to my laptop for up to 48 hours of non-stop data usage and after untethering, the battery was still fully charged. The only thing that may confound some people is that the phone never says "Charge Complete" with this cable. But I assure you, it is charging/charged.

For those interested in the difference between Bluetooth tethering and Data Cable tethering internet speeds, I've gotten the following results;
Bluetooth Tether- AT&T 3G network - .75MBps/.3MBps
Data Cable Tether- AT&T 3G network- up to 2.1MBps/.5MBps

4.0 out of 5 stars Cable works without software, but there's a trick to it., April 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bargaincell Usb Data Cable For Lg Lg Vu Cu920, Shine Cu720, Venus Vx8800, Voyager Vx10000, Cu515, Vx5400, Rumor, Scoop, Ux260, Cg180, Ce110, Vx8350, Lx160, Flare, Ax380 Wave, Ux380, Cu575 Trax, Vx8550 Chocolate, Lx570 Muziq, Ax565, Ux565, Ax275, Vx8700, Vx9400, Vx9900 Env, Lx150, Vx8600, Ax8600, Vx8500 Chocolate Cell Phone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Bought this cable to move some pictures and videos from my phone to my computer. I knew it didn't come with software, but thought I'd be able to download the drivers I needed from the web - foolish me! After a long, fruitless search I called my phone carrier for help and wound up no better off (even though the customer service rep and technical rep were very pleasant and trying to help). Apparently, the LG trax CU-575 doesn't have software for downloading pictures and video to the PC!

That's because it doesn't need software, just a micro-SD memory card. If you set the phone's USB connection mode to mass storage (Menu>Settings>Connection) and connect it to your computer with this cable, Windows XP and Windows 7 (Vista, what's Vista?) will detect it and mount the phone's storage as a removable disc drive - as long as it has a memory card installed. If it doesn't, you get a message on the phone saying "Insert memory card for connecting as mass storage" and the USB device does not install properly on the PC.

So, after buying and inserting a micro SD memory card into the phone, I was able to connect it to the PC and see the empty memory card. All the photos and video were stored in the handset's internal storage. The trick was to move each picture and each video, one by one, from the handset to the memory card (when viewing the pic gallery, Options>Move>Memory Card>Paste), then connect the phone to the computer with the cable and use Windows explorer to copy/move them to the PC. Tedious, but not too difficult.

Of course, the micro SD card I bought came with an adapter that lets me insert it directly into the SD slot on my computer (meaning I don't really need the cable), but hey - live and learn. If your PC doesn't have a micro SD or SD card reader, then you'll want a cable like this (or a micro SD card with a USB adapter).

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great on LG VX8600 for BitPim, CDMA modem, and charging, September 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bargaincell Usb Data Cable For Lg Lg Vu Cu920, Shine Cu720, Venus Vx8800, Voyager Vx10000, Cu515, Vx5400, Rumor, Scoop, Ux260, Cg180, Ce110, Vx8350, Lx160, Flare, Ax380 Wave, Ux380, Cu575 Trax, Vx8550 Chocolate, Lx570 Muziq, Ax565, Ux565, Ax275, Vx8700, Vx9400, Vx9900 Env, Lx150, Vx8600, Ax8600, Vx8500 Chocolate Cell Phone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This cable works great for BitPim, CDMA modem, and charging. The first one I got failed after 10 days due to the miniUSB end coming apart when I was plugging it into the phone. This quality issue was my only complaint. It was replaced at no charge.

(I did get one of another brand locally to use while awaiting replacement; it was labeled as a charging and data cable but did not charge; I exchanged it for another, which also did not charge, before I noticed the fine print on the package stating that the charge function would not work on some models. Believe me, you want the charge ability if you use the phone occasionally as a modem or if you want the ability to conveniently recharge your phone from your computer.)

About the only thing I would do differently is to order two of them.

This product I bought was just as described by the seller....and it works great. It is just that the original conversion software is hard to come by. I found out in searching for it that, in Australia, for example, EVERYTHING comes in the box with the phone. It sadly does not in the US! I will not purchase another LG phone. If you have the software and need the cable.....this IS the one you want. Read all descriptions carefully because some of the cables are USB charging cables and do not transfer data!!
